Intro: 2020 has been a year for the books to say the least. I really dont have to recap all of the things that have taken place, but I think we can all agree that 2020 has been unforgetable.
I heard someone say that 2020 is truly highinsight. So with that being said, in highinsight, God’s grace and mercy has still remains good, pure and right.
Can we just stop right now and thank Him for just that!
Can we just stop right now and thank Him for just that!
Its been such a trying time for so many, but we can celebrate that we are still here and still standing! My hope for 2021 is that we have a divine Reset. A Resest back to our purpose, mission, and calling. Let me tell you Abundant Life, God is not done with us and I just want to make a procolmation, that our best days are truly ahead of us!
So lets just make make the decision now that we are going to stand together, work together and watch God do some amazing things!
So lets just make make the decision now that we are going to stand together, work together and watch God do some amazing things!
With that being said, we are going to spend the next few weeks talking about one word: Reset.
I clearly heard the Lord say to me over a month or more to go its time for us as a church family RESET. When I asked the Lord what that means, He spoke to me so clearly, as said its times to get back to the basics.
Simple Gospel
Simple Worship
Simple Holy Ghost
Simple Mission
Here is what I believe. I believe that if we take the 4 simple elements and make them not only central to our church but to our lives, our families, our work places etc, then I truly believe we are going to see the fruit of God’s work.
With that being said turn your Bibles to Romans 1:8-16
What is the Gospel? We know that the term Gospel means “Good News..” However, I believe that we have gotten so comfotrable with the defintion of “Good News” that is has become a mere slogan than a banner that exhibits a life change that has not only altered our eternity but it has changed our destiny here on earth.
Today I want to talk about the Gospel two fold.
The Gospel to the Unbeliever
Good News! The Gospel screams nothing but HOPE!
Repentance! John 3:3 Be Born Again!
Redemption! Ephesians 1:7
Can I tell you that no matter how lost, backslidden, or broken you may feel, the Gospel still works!
2. The Gospel to the Believer
I once head a preahcer say that the Gospel was a whole Gospel. That to many have placed and emphasis on sin that we fail to realize that Gospel tramsforms ever area of our life! (2 Corinthians 5:17)
How many are truly living the Gospel?
Im seeing more and more that many can talk about the Gospel without living it! Many are living lives contrary to the Gospel!
Many are saved but more are living incomplete!
Many are saved but more are living incomplete!
Saved but still struggling
Saved but still hiding
Saved but barely getting by
Saved but still dysfunctional
What about any of this screams the Gospel?!?!?!?! Is it any wonder why so many hear but not recieve? As long as we have a church that is merely saved but not thriving it will always be the same!
Listens to me brothers and sisters: Our lives should scream the Gospel.
From us to to the world it scream you can be:
Healed
Delivered
Set Free
Propserous
Our Gospel lifstyles should never scream:
Compromise
Apathy
Toxic Talk
Poopy Politics
Secrets
Im not wanting to start this year off with a beat down, I am wanting to start it off with a challenge! Lets make the decision to RESET! Lets make the declaration that we are live better, serve better, share better, devote better, and watch God to exceedingly and abundantly more!!!!!
Are you with me?!?!?!
Joshua Gay said:
I absolutely believe in the power of a moment to transform lives. However, most "deliverance" and "breakthrough" I have seen in the lives of others comes from a consistent application of being committed first and foremost to the Lord, being connected to a loving church community, and following biblical precept and principle. We need to see more devotion, commitment, and consistency in our church circles today.
While we certainly need "revival" the first place we need to see revived is a commitment to the elementary principles of relationship, community, and discipleship.
How about in the church we make these our resolutions for 2021:
1. We will push into deeper relationship and devotion with the Father.
2. We will be plugged in and connected with a local church family.
3. We will apply biblical principles in our lives to see transformation.
Lets RESET to live and share the SIMPLE GOSPEL.
