MEET 2021 HEAD ON

Matthew 11:21–30 NKJV
21 “Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works which were done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes. 22 But I say to you, it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in the day of judgment than for you. 23 And you, Capernaum, who are exalted to heaven, will be brought down to Hades; for if the mighty works which were done in you had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day. 24 But I say to you that it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment than for you.” 25 At that time Jesus answered and said, “I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and have revealed them to babes. 26 Even so, Father, for so it seemed good in Your sight. 27 All things have been delivered to Me by My Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father. Nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and the one to whom the Son wills to reveal Him. 28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
Introduction:
What will judgement be like for the United States? We were called to be the light and as a whole we have chosen to hide it and allow mediocrity to reign supreme. We who live in a prosperous nation. We who still have the freedom to gather in the Lord’s house. There are so many churches. We who have access to the Word of God in so many different avenues. Whether it be the tree bible, electronic bible, apps galore, TV, social media, and podcasts. We should be the most spiritual. We should be the most righteous and demonstrating acts of righteousness to the whole world.
But looks at us as a country. We are dripping with sin. Isaiah prophesied:
Isaiah 61:1–2 NKJV
1 “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, Because the Lord has anointed Me To preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to those who are bound; 2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, And the day of vengeance of our God; To comfort all who mourn,
Jesus reads this scripture again. He gives it a moment to sink in and then.....
Luke 4:21 NKJV
21 And He began to say to them, “Today this Scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.”
God in flesh was walking around them day in and day out. The miracles and blessings were so abundant that John wrote
John 21:25 NKJV
25 And there are also many other things that Jesus did, which if they were written one by one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that would be written. Amen.
One of these blessings is a sound mind.
2 Timothy 1:7 NKJV
7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
According to mentalhealthfirstaid.org for 2020, ‘in late June, 40% of US adults reported struggling with mental health or substance use’. According to ourworldindata.org in 2003, the United States was listed as the #7 for mental health and substance use disorders and New Zealand was #1.
We are not living in the freedom He has given us. This is why this 3 week fast is so important. It is about getting back to what is really important. Focus on our relationship with the Lord. Experience more power. More perseverance to do what we are supposed to. It is high time to return to the altar experience. It is never too late.
VIDEO
Just as I am without one plea But that thy blood was shed for me And that thou bidd'st me come to thee Of Lamb of God I come, I come...
The service is nearing an end The choir is singing "Just as I am" And now as the old song is played People at the altar are kneeling down to pray Some are finding mercy Forgiveness for their sins Some are fighting battles And they're struggling to win The time is come to give them to the Lord That's what this altar is for
That's what this altar is for You don't have to carry those burdens any more There's a light in the darkness There's a love that's true And Jesus is waiting He is waiting here for you Go quickly now before they close the door That's what this altar is for
A father is praying with his son Mother kneels beside them Thanking God they've come An old man is standing there in tears Giving up a part of him that he's held back for years Hearts are being broken Lives are being changed Those who call upon Him they will never be the same The time has come to give into the Lord That's what this altar is for
Go quickly now before they close the door And you can give your burdens to the Lord That's what this altar is for...
Conclusion:
This is a new year. We need to be serious about our relationship with the Lord. He has been serious about you. The cross testifies to the great lengths He will do for you and for me. He has made it so easy for us. He did all the hard work.
A-Acknowledge
Romans 3:23 NKJV
23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
B-Believe
Acts 16:31 NKJV
31 So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.”
C-Confess
Romans 10:9–10 NKJV
9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
