Gehazi and The Anointing Squandered
- The anointing of prophet, priest, and healing was intended to remain in Israel
- The anointing is needed to do battle, it is not for thrills and chills
- God’s army needs to be equipped and trained for battle
- Elijah and the prophets of Baal & Asherah, I Kings 18:18-40, this is WAR
- Widow of Zarephath, oil and flour multiplied, her son raised from the dead, I Kings 17:16-24, one of two recorded raisings from the dead through Elijah
- Elijah and Elisha hook up in covenant
- Elijah wraps his mantle or cloak around Elijah, I Kings 19:15-21, in verse 20 Elijah says, “consider what I have done to you.”
- The anointing of Elijah came upon Elisha, Pastor Al’s hands
- Elisha’s dead bones, 2 Kings 13:21
- The anointing was meant to continue, from Elisha to Gehazi
- Gehazi & Naaman, 2 Kings 5:5-27
- We never hear from Gehazi again, as the anointing is not for sale
- Many truly saved and anointed people have come through these doors, but only the only who were interested in covenant remain
- The Body of Christ must be committed and faithful to the local church, or the anointing will be squandered as it was with Gehazi
- The Lone Ranger is not biblical, but is how the world does business
- What is blocking your anointing? Anger, unforgiveness, hatred, bitterness, rejection, addictions, faithlessness, selfishness…whatever it takes to rob us
