*Why Worship 05~/18~/05*
* *
It puts us in the right place before God
Without worship of The Father, we would think that we could do it on our own
The law of first mention, Genesis 22:1-12 with Abraham and Isaac, in verse 5 Abraham
is going to *WORSHIP*, and then return
Worship was always meant to cost us something, and in Abraham’s case his own Isaac
Worship is not worship if it is free
In verse 5 the very act of worship, is done by faith, for Abraham said “that I and the lad
would go yonder and worship, and then return to you.”
King James Bible Word Book & *worship*
He knew he was called to sacrifice the boy, and yet by faith Abraham said what he said
Word study of worship, in the Lexicon we see that worship can be false also, as before
false Gods, or before idols…golf, hunting, your children as in Sunday hockey
The very act of worship is what Satan asked of Jesus in Matthew 4:8-11
This is the third and final temptation, and is what Satan really wants, and that is to be
like God.
It is worship of Satan that most thrills him, as this is a God quality
The enemy knows what true worship can do for the worshipper, and he wants to rob
us of that, and steal it for himself
If worship is that important, we should covet it all the more
Pastor Al mentioned this in passing on Sunday, John 4:24-26 “true worshippers”
It is this true worship that God has called us to.
It is a worship of him “in spirit and in
truth.”
If there is true worship there is always a copy.
Many worship in the way they were
simply taught to worship from their childhood, and how much of that is wrong???
Behavior is mostly learned, and how much of what we do is religion, and not worship???
Is high church worship, or is it ritual??? Are we worshipping God, or our ritual???
