Deuteronomy 33:27 KJV 190027 The eternal God is thy refuge, And underneath are the everlasting arms: And he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee; And shall say, Destroy them.
Psalm 90:9–10 KJV 19009 For all our days are passed away in thy wrath: We spend our years as a tale that is told. 10 The days of our years are threescore years and ten; And if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, Yet is their strength labour and sorrow; For it is soon cut off, and we fly away.

Introduction:
Introduction:
In times like these, we begin to face our own lives and evaluate our standing with a Holy God.We begin to value and deem important things and people and memories when faced with the passing of a loved one.
We begin to ask questions:
We begin to ask questions:
Have we spent enough time with our families?Have I been so busy disliking others that I have never gotten to know anyone?Have I created friendships that will last during the tough times? What are the things that we value most or what do we treasure?
Matthew 6:19–21 KJV 190019 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: 20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: 21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
What about eternity?Am I ready to face what is beyond this life?Where will I spend eternity? Is there a God?At a time like this Does God really Care?

Hebrews 4:16 KJV 190016 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

Isaiah 40:28–31 KJV 190028 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, That the everlasting God, the Lord, The Creator of the ends of the earth, Fainteth not, neither is weary? There is no searching of his understanding. 29 He giveth power to the faint; And to them that have no might he increaseth strength. 30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall: 31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings as eagles; They shall run, and not be weary; And they shall walk, and not faint.
Matthew 11:28–30 KJV 190028 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

III. He Cares Enough to Conquer
III. He Cares Enough to Conquer
Most folks have enough compassion to care about someone when they are hurting. Some will even care enough to bring comfort:They send flowers and cardsThey speak kind wordsThey give hugs and pats on the backThey pray for those that are hurtingHumanly speaking we are can care, and we all care care enough to give comfort, but God does much more than just care and listen. He did something that only He can do....He cared enough to give hope beyond the grave by defeating this enemy that we call death.
A. Death is our enemy
A. Death is our enemy
1. Stalks us without tiring
1. Stalks us without tiring
2. Today we come face to face with the reality of this fact.
2. Today we come face to face with the reality of this fact.
B. God cares enough to conquer this enemy.
B. God cares enough to conquer this enemy.
1. Jesus died so that Death would be defeated.
1. Jesus died so that Death would be defeated.
2. This is not the End!!
2. This is not the End!!
John 14:1–3 KJV 19001 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. 2 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
Hebrews 9:27 KJV 190027 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
C. Death is the result of sin(man’s disobedience to God)
C. Death is the result of sin(man’s disobedience to God)
Because Adam disobeyed God in the Garden of Eden, his sin nature has been passed down to every human that has been born since that day.
Romans 5:12 KJV 190012 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
Sin is the problem, and all of us have committed sins!
Romans 3:23 KJV 190023 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
God’s standard is absolute perfection, and yet, none of us can be perfect. So what do we do?Remember God cares enough to defeat this enemy called death!!
Romans 6:23 KJV 190023 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
(All will face this one day!!)The physical death is the bad news, but the Good news is that this is not the end.
Romans 6:23 KJV 190023 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Notice there is a gift that God is offering:
Romans 5:8 KJV 19008 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
The gift (good news) is that Jesus Christ paid the price of all of my sins and your sins when He died on the cross!!1. His death on the Cross-He took your place- All of your sins were placed on Him and He paid the ultimate price- The Just dying for the Unjust!!!
John 3:16 KJV 190016 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
2. His Death paid for our sins, but His Resurrection provided the victory over this enemy we call Death. 1Cor. 15-Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?...But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Will you accept the Fact that God cares? He cares enough to hear your cries, to comfort you, to conquer death. Is all that you value, here on earth or are you laying up treasure in Heaven? When your day of death comes, where will you spend eternity? Will you accept Him as your personal Saviour, Today?
