Through Jesus Christ, God has made possible a new relationship between himself and sinful humanity. This involves the renewal of human nature and eventually a renewal of creation itself.

The newness of the gospel

The teaching of Jesus Christ was acclaimed as something new

Mark 1:27 KJV 1900
And they were all amazed, insomuch that they questioned among themselves, saying, What thing is this? what new doctrine is this? for with authority commandeth he even the unclean spirits, and they do obey him.

The kingdom of God is like new cloth

Luke 5:36 KJV 1900
And he spake also a parable unto them; No man putteth a piece of a new garment upon an old; if otherwise, then both the new maketh a rent, and the piece that was taken out of the new agreeth not with the old.

The kingdom of God is like new wine

Luke 5:37–38 KJV 1900
And no man putteth new wine into old bottles; else the new wine will burst the bottles, and be spilled, and the bottles shall perish. But new wine must be put into new bottles; and both are preserved.

A new covenant has been established between God and his people

The newness brought to believers through redemption
