Our Sermon today will be on the trials of a Disciple of Christ
Why does a Christian go thru Trials?
Peter says that the “These trials will show that your faith is genuine.”
We see scripture reference although the Bible that God test a person to see if he is a true believer.
“Because of the miraculous signs Jesus did in Jerusalem at the Passover celebration, many began to trust in Him. But Jesus didn’t trust them, because He knew all about people. No one needed to tell Him about human nature, for He knew what was in each person’s heart, John 2:23-25.
Living by Faith Testing Proves the Genuineness of Our Faith
Did He suspect them? He surely did. He knew their belief was not genuine because He “knew all men.” When a time of testing came for them, by the way, it was proven that theirs was not a genuine faith. Our Lord said to them later:
“But there are some of you who do not believe.” For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were who did not believe, and who would betray Him. And He said, “Therefore I have said to you that no one can come to Me unless it has been granted to him by My Father.” From that time many of His disciples went back and walked with Him no more. (John 6:64–66 NKJV)
