Proverbs 29:18 NASB95
18 Where there is no vision, the people are unrestrained, But happy is he who keeps the law.
A) Vision creates extraordinary success:
Success in your marriage
Success in your walk with God
Success in your health
Success in your finances
your business
success in your relationships
B) There was a Navy recruiter that visited my store this season and he mentioned what its like to be on a aircraft carrier. The John C. Stennis is:
3 football fields long
weighs nearly 200 million pounds
a floating city
home to more than 5000 personal.
it powered by two nuclear reactors that propel it through the water at more than 30 knots
Because of the reactors it only needs to refuel every 26!
Whats amazing is about the reactor is that you only have to put a little fuel in and you get an incredible amount of power.
Like a nuclear reactor vision offers us our own personal power source to drive us to our most distant and even impossible dreams, a power source that can transform a little bit of fuel into a tremendous amount of power. It can radically change any area of our life and begin that change as soon as you begin to use it.
C) Examples:
Vision enabled a first-grade dropout to receive more patents than anyone in history.
Thomas Edison was a first-grade dropout. His mother home schooled and taught him the book of proverbs.
From his youth he knew the importance of gaining a clear vision for whatever he wanted to accomplish and a detailed plan for accomplishing that vision.
He invented a way to record sound, movies, generated electricity, and of course the electric light bulb.
2. John D. Rockefeller: Gaining a clear and precise vision was what catapulted John D. Rockefeller from a ten-cents-an-hour book keeper to the richest man in the world.
3. It transformed Helen Keller from a bitter young girl into one of the most inspirational speakers and writers of all time.
4. It became the driving force that empowered Ray Kroc to look at a single tine restaurant in California, and transform it into the 25,000 franchise restaurant system of today’s McDonald's.
5. Vision caused me to start my business. When I wrote out a detailed plan it doubled my income within a year.
D) Vision is a matter of life and death. Without a vision you will parish. In all areas of life.
Proverbs 13:12 NASB95
12 Hope deferred makes the heart sick, But desire fulfilled is a tree of life.
A vision is a precise, clearly defined goal with a detailed plan and timetable for achieving that Goal.
Habakkuk 2:2 NASB95
2 Then the Lord answered me and said, “Record the vision And inscribe it on tablets, That the one who reads it may run.
We have to write the vision down!
Hebrews 11:1 NASB95
1 Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.
Vision is a dream, hope, or something that you see on the inside that is not yet manifest on the outside.
Faith gives action to vision. If it doesn't have faith connected to it then its just a hallucination.
Because faith without works is dead.
Chuck Swindols example of house the pastor built.

A preacher saved up enough money to buy a few inexpensive acres of land. A little run-down, weather-beaten farmhouse sat on the acreage, a sad picture of years of neglect. The land had not been kept up either, so there were old tree stumps, rusted pieces of machinery, and all sorts of debris strewn here and there, not to mention a fence greatly in need of repair. The whole scene was a mess.

During his spare time and his vacations, the preacher rolled up his sleeves and got to work. He hauled off the junk, repaired the fence, pulled away the stumps, and replanted new trees. Then he refurbished the old house into a quaint cottage with a new roof, new windows, new stone walkway, new paint job, and finally a few colorful flower boxes. It took several years to accomplish all this, but finally, when the last job had been completed and he was washing up after applying a fresh coat of paint to the mailbox, his neighbor (who had watched all this from a distance) walked over and said, “Well, preacher—looks like you and the Lord have done a pretty fine job on your place here.”

Wiping the sweat from his face, the minister replied, “Yeah, I suppose so, but you should have seen it when the Lord had it all to Himself.”

There are a lot of people who want to go to heaven but will never make it because they never mixed it with faith. They never mixed it with action to give their life to Jesus. They believed that God was real and even pray to Him but they never gave their life to Him.
