Romans 12:1–2 CSB
Therefore, brothers and sisters, in view of the mercies of God, I urge you to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God; this is your true worship. Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.

INTRO—

Remember....
Romans 11:30–32 CSB
30 As you once disobeyed God but now have received mercy through their disobedience, 31 so they too have now disobeyed, resulting in mercy to you, so that they also may now receive mercy. 32 For God has imprisoned all in disobedience so that he may have mercy on all.
Therefore...
“I urge you all” [beg]
2 Corinthians 10:2 CSB
I beg you that when I am present I will not need to be bold with the confidence by which I plan to challenge certain people who think we are living according to the flesh.
1 Peter 2:11 CSB
Dear friends, I urge you as strangers and exiles to abstain from sinful desires that wage war against the soul.
“In view of God’s mercies” [“on account/because of”]
[Romans 9.15, 16, 18, 23; 11.30-32]
‘To this calling on our lives...’

OUR LIVES PRESENTED [Romans 12.1]

Bodies a Living Sacrifice [total surrender…of all my life!]
1 Corinthians 6:20 CSB
for you were bought at a price. So glorify God with your body.
Romans 6:19 CSB
I am using a human analogy because of the weakness of your flesh. For just as you offered the parts of yourselves as slaves to impurity, and to greater and greater lawlessness, so now offer them as slaves to righteousness, which results in sanctification.
Pleases God
Hebrews 13:15–16 CSB
15 Therefore, through him let us continually offer up to God a sacrifice of praise, that is, the fruit of lips that confess his name. 16 Don’t neglect to do what is good and to share, for God is pleased with such sacrifices.
2 Corinthians 5:9 CSB
Therefore, whether we are at home or away, we make it our aim to be pleasing to him.
Logical Response
1 Peter 2:2 CSB
Like newborn infants, desire the pure milk of the word, so that by it you may grow up into your salvation,

OUR LIVES TRANSFORMED [Romans 12.2]

Transformed Lives [Transformed//Transfigured]
Matthew 17:2 CSB
He was transfigured in front of them, and his face shone like the sun; his clothes became as white as the light.
2 Corinthians 3:18 CSB
We all, with unveiled faces, are looking as in a mirror at the glory of the Lord and are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory; this is from the Lord who is the Spirit.
Romans 8:29 CSB
For those he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, so that he would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.
Renewed Mind
Colossians 3:10 CSB
and have put on the new self. You are being renewed in knowledge according to the image of your Creator.
Colossians 3:9 CSB
Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old self with its practices
Opp.=
Romans 1:28 CSB
And because they did not think it worthwhile to acknowledge God, God delivered them over to a corrupt mind so that they do what is not right.
Not Conformed to This Age [age…world; conformed to another’s pattern]
JB Phillips translation: Don’t let the world around you squeeze you into its own mould.”
1 Peter 1:14 CSB
As obedient children, do not be conformed to the desires of your former ignorance.
Discerning God’s Will [finding out the worth of]
Ephesians 5:17 CSB
So don’t be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.
Ephesians 5:15–21 CSB
Pay careful attention, then, to how you walk—not as unwise people but as wise—making the most of the time, because the days are evil. So don’t be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is. And don’t get drunk with wine, which leads to reckless living, but be filled by the Spirit: speaking to one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing and making music with your heart to the Lord, giving thanks always for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, submitting to one another in the fear of Christ.
[…& Ps 143:10; Pr 16:9; Gal 1:4; Eph 1:9]
Discerning = Prove; Approve(-ing); Discovering the Worth of
His will is good, because he wills the good…is pleasing, because he wills blessing…is perfect, because he wills perfection.

CONCL—

In view of God’s incomparable mercies, we...
Ephesians 4:1 CSB
Therefore I, the prisoner in the Lord, urge you to walk worthy of the calling you have received,
…in the weeks ahead of us, we will be challenged with what our lives must look like as we live the life Paul talks about founded on the truth of our great salvation.
