Discover the right route for your souls. But they said, ‘Nothing doing. We aren’t going that way.’
Follow the Path of Duty (Luke 7:50; 10:38–42)
We must do that which the Master tells us to do, as well as sit at his feet. I am tempted to tell a story that most of you must know concerning the famous man of God who, in his cell, thought he saw the Lord Jesus, and under that persuasion he worshiped with rapt delight. But just then the bell at the convent gate rang, and it was his turn to stand at the door and deal out bread to the hungry. There was a little battle in his mind as to which he should do—tarry with his Lord or go to hand out bread to the poor mendicants. At last he felt that he must do his duty even at the cost of the highest spiritual bliss. He went and distributed the bread, and when he came back, to his great delight, the vision was still there, and a voice said to him, “If you had stayed, I would have gone. But as you have gone, I have therefore stayed still to commune with you.”
The path of duty must be followed, and no spiritual enjoyment can excuse us from it. Never offer one duty to God stained with the blood of another. Balance your duties and do not let one press out another. (C. H. Spurgeon)
my concern is that to many christians have come confuse,
God’s Word never stayed that “politics will save us,” that the “church will save us,” and that man will save us” However, Jesus said that He is the way, the truth, and the life.
Derek Prince in his book, Surviving the last Days: Can You face the End of Age without Fear? He explains the great problem humanity faces, the key to approaching the last days, and Jesus’ role in the of the age.
I agree that there are serious statements made in Scripture about the last days to help us get grip on life and stay focus.
(1) Trouble in the last Days, 2 Timothy 3:1-4
(1) Trouble in the last Days, 2 Timothy 3:1-4
the reason these fierce times will come is because the deterioration of human character, ethics and morals. There will be 3 notable blemishes (1) lovers of themselves, (2) lovers of money, (3) lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God.
Scriptures pinpoints the great basic problem that faces humanity is the love of self.
We are warn again,
(2) Matthew 24:7-14, Birth pangs, or labor pains, that will issue in the kingdom of God on earth.
(2) Matthew 24:7-14, Birth pangs, or labor pains, that will issue in the kingdom of God on earth.
An recap of this list:
Nation against nation
Kingdom against kingdom
Famines, pestilences, earthquakes
Christians persecuted and hated by all nations
Many Christians offended and betraying one another
Many false prophets
The love of many Christians growing cold
Finally, the need for endurance
Choosing the Right Response. What is your Response?
Choosing the Right Response. What is your Response?
Jeremiah 6:16 (NKJV) 16Thus says the Lord: “Stand in the ways and see, And ask for the old paths, where the good way is, And walk in it; Then you will find rest for your souls. But they said, ‘We will not walk in it.’

4. Foolishness is without rest. The Lord says, “Ask for the old paths, where the good way is, and walk in it; then you will find rest for your souls” (6:16); however, they said, “We will not walk in it.” Foolishness is a condition that results from an act of the will. It is a choice. That is why it is a moral issue and not just an intellectual one.
In refusing the good way, they forfeited the promised rest. We are a nation in desperate search of relaxation. Witness the profusion of stress management courses and the rising problem of drug and alcohol abuse. In our humanity we were designed for rest. We were meant to be a sabbath people. We are going to get that rest one way or the other. “And Nabal’s heart was merry within him, for he was very drunk” (1 Sam. 25:36). In his wine-induced euphoria, Nabal lost touch with reality. At the moment he thought he was most at rest, he was in fact in the most peril. David and his warriors were charging toward Nabal with nothing but revenge in mind.
Guidance, need for God’s
God’s guidance is needed because people are naturally ignorant and rebellious and there are many who lead others astray.
The need to know and do the will of God (Je 10:23, Ezr 7:18; 1 Th 4:3; Heb 13:20–21; 1 Pe 2:15; 1 Jn 2:17; Mt 6:10; Mt 7:21; Mt 12:50; Jn 7:17

Jeremiah 10:23 (ESV) — 23 I know, O Lord, that the way of man is not in himself, that it is not in man who walks to direct his steps.
John 7:17 (ESV) 17If anyone’s will is to do God’s will, he will know whether the teaching is from God or whether I am speaking on my own authority.
By themselves people are ignorant of the right way in life (Pr 14:12, Ec 6:12; Ec 8:7; Is 53:6; Is 59:10 blindness the result of disobedience; Mt 9:36; 1 Pe 2:25

Proverbs 14:12 (ESV) — 12 There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death.
The adverse consequences of false guidance and disobedience (1 Ch 10:13–14; Job 5:12; Ps 33:10–11; Ps 146:3–4; Is 19:3; Is 30:1; Je 19:7; Ho 11:5–7; Heb 3:7–11; Ps 95:7–11)

1 Chronicles 10:13–14 (ESV) — 13 So Saul died for his breach of faith. He broke faith with the Lord in that he did not keep the command of the Lord, and also consulted a medium, seeking guidance. 14 He did not seek guidance from the Lord. Therefore the Lord put him to death and turned the kingdom over to David the son of Jesse.
Truth comes from God, and he has revealed it to his creation. We humans know truth because God reveals it in his creation and in his Word, the Bible.
Truth is absolute. Though opinions about truth change, truth, on the other hand, remains the truth and therefore cannot change. Beliefs change but not truth.
If you look for truth, you may find comfort in the end; if you look for comfort you will not get either comfort or truth—only soft soap and wishful thinking to begin, and in the end, despair. (C.S. Lewis)
