Introduction

Here in the USA, we live in a time when the truth is so distrusted that there is wholesale denial of it in spite of overwhelming evidence of it. To be honest, the truth is ignored in favor of preference. This is seen in the LGBTQ (especially the “T”) revolution. It is also shown in revisionist history lessons given to students across the land. Finally, the willingness of our political representatives, justices, and main-stream news media to ignore the evidence in favor of their preferred candidate. Until now, it only takes 2 or 3 witnesses to establish the truth.
The gospels are four - four witnesses as to the life and purpose of Jesus Christ - including His identity. In our passage today, we will look at four witnesses available to those speaking to Jesus - BEFORE the gospels were written.
So, let’s do the math today: We have four witnesses within the four gospels - that’s eight witnesses. MORE than enough evidence for you to believe in, trust in, and commit your all to Jesus Christ. But before I ask you to trust the evidence, let me first ask you to examine it to see if it’s credible.
Open your Bibles to John 5:31-47. (Pray, then read it.)
Can you find the four witnesses to the Divinity of Christ? Do they speak to your heart or just your head? Would you trust Jesus more if these witnesses told the truth? When confronted with these facts and the truth, what would the consequences be if you rejected them?
