The Comeback to God

Hosea 6:1–6 CSB

1 Come, let’s return to the Lord. For he has torn us, and he will heal us; he has wounded us, and he will bind up our wounds. 2 He will revive us after two days, and on the third day he will raise us up so we can live in his presence. 3 Let’s strive to know the Lord. His appearance is as sure as the dawn. He will come to us like the rain, like the spring showers that water the land. 4 What am I going to do with you, Ephraim? What am I going to do with you, Judah? Your love is like the morning mist and like the early dew that vanishes. 5 This is why I have used the prophets to cut them down; I have killed them with the words from my mouth. My judgment strikes like lightning. 6 For I desire faithful love and not sacrifice, the knowledge of God rather than burnt offerings.

1. Reset to the ways of the Lord

2020 gave many a headache

2020 cause many to leave the fellowship of believers

2020 weakened the faith of many

Do not conform to the pattern of this word

Be renewed by renewing your mind

Change your thoughts your future changes

We have a picture of our 1st worship service of 2020; we had a good size worshipping with us then COVID hit

Reset the double that God promised us

Start reclaiming your double

This is the comeback to reset our lives to God

2. Renounce the former ways to live in the new

We must quit our sinful actions and behaviors

Make a definite declaration to renounce the former ways

Burn the bridges that take you back to the past issues

We need to remove “impossible” from our dictionaries

Christians have become too familiar with impossible

Christians have become too familiar with quitting

We renounce impossible

We renounce quitting

A great warrior took his warriors to the battlefield by ships. After arriving, he gave the order to burn all the ships. He told his warriors, what brought us here is burning, the only way we return is if we are alive. We win or we perish.

Renounce the past. Burn it. Win or die trying.

With God with you, you will win

3. Restoration through the His Healing Power

Everything that happens is God allowed or God ordained

The pandemic was God allowed

There was a shaking in the global Church

Restoration is here

He will heal us — He is still Jehovah-Rapha

He still has power to defeat viruses, sicknesses, illnesses, diseases, and all manner of ailments

He still has power to restore His children

He still has power to protect His children

You must be willing to believe that He is for you

You must be willing to believe that He is able

Draw close to God and He will draw close to you

4. Develop a deep desire for God

Desire for God so much that it becomes and obsession

Become committed to being in His Presence

Develop the right type of commitment

Commitment to do something in the future regardless of how the future looks

That is how committed God is to us

Delight in the Lord brings blessings

Don’t create another resolution that you will not follow through in

Develop a commitment to stay

Lasting commitment will bring fruit

5. Desire rooted in faith brings success

Desire alone will not get things done

You must mix desire with faith

Psalm 37:4 CSB

4 Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you your heart’s desires.

You need faith that is not shaken

In the midst of trials — continue to believe

In the midst of the storm — trust in Him

No one is ready to receive the blessing until he/she beliefs that he/she deserves to be blessed

Desire to be blessed is not enough

See yourself being blessed — that is faith

If you can see it, you will receive it

I see Arise Church receiving abundance favor in 2021 — Reset our thinking

I see signs and wonders in Arise in 2021 — Reset our thinking

I see great victories for Arise in 2021 — Reset our thinking

I see us all getting our double blessing in 2021 — Reset our thinking — the Comeback
