Part 1: Who Is Your Master?

Matthew 6:19-24

Proverbs 22:7, “The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender.”

• Servant: `ebed; a servant, a slave, in bondage.

1.) Money tempts us to serve it.

• Matthew 6:24, “No one can serve two masters. Either he’ll hate the one and love the other, or he'll be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money.”

2.) Money tempts us to love it.

• 1 Timothy 6:10, “For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.”
• Ecclesiastes 5:10, “Whoever loves money never has money enough; whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with his income.”

A Proper Financial Perspective:

• Money serves us as we serve God.
