Victory is Mine

1 John 5:4–5 ESV

For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world except the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

This text declares you are a winner and an overcomer.

John reassures believers of their standing in Christ and their salvation.

A true believer has a love for the Father, a love for the children of God, and a love for the commandments of God.

1. Victory in Jesus is guaranteed by your belief in the Gospel.

Your salvation begins with God.

We are already winners.

2. This victory is exclusive to those that believe in Jesus.

1 John 5:5 ESV

Who is it that overcomes the world except the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

We can overcome because we serve a Christ that overcame.

It’s in our DNA.

Christ is a winner, so we are winners.
