Webster Student Ministries exists to Connect students to Christ and His Church, Grow them in their faith and obedience to Him, and prepare them for and provide them with opportunities to Go and share Christ with others.
We are going to look at Psalm 96:4-6 to discover why we should want to Connect to Christ, Grow in Christ, and Go share Him with others.
When we talk about Connecting to something, Growing in our understanding or discipline in something, and Going and sharing that something with others… We are really talking about the discovery of something we delight in or enjoy.
Delight and Enjoy
When you connect to something that you begin to delight and enjoy, you want to grow in your understanding of it or even you mastering of it. And, you get excited about going and telling other people about it so they can connect to it and grow in their appreciation of it.
Movies we enjoy. Books and food.
Our goal is to show you how glorious and wonderful God is.
I hope to show you that in this text.
This psalm mentions the Lord. We are going to talk about Jesus because the Bible reveals that He is the Lord.
Why should you want to connect to God, grow in him,
Psalm 96:4–6 ESV
For great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; he is to be feared above all gods. For all the gods of the peoples are worthless idols, but the Lord made the heavens. Splendor and majesty are before him; strength and beauty are in his sanctuary.
