If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? 3 When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am. 4 And you know the way to where I am going.” 5 “No, we don’t know, Lord,” Thomas said. “We have no idea where you are going, so how can we know the way?” 6 Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.

Revelation 1:1a NLT
1 This is a revelation from Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants the events that must soon take place. He sent an angel to present this revelation to his servant John,
A- To reveal (unveil) the glorified Christ.
1- “Ἀποκάλυψις Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ”- This is the revelation that Jesus gives about himself.
a. Ἀποκάλυψις = literally means to take the cover away from, to reveal.
Like taking away the wrapping from a gift to reveal what is inside.
b. The first time that Jesus came to earth, He came as the suffering Savior (Isaiah 53) His glory, majesty and full power were veiled in human flesh. (We see this picture of Him in the Gospels.
c. The next time Jesus comes to Earth, He will be unveiled to the world (Revelation 19:11). He will come as:
Revelation 19:11 NLT
11 Then I saw heaven opened, and a white horse was standing there. Its rider was named Faithful and True, for he judges fairly and wages a righteous war.
King of Kings and Lord of Lords, before whom all will bow. (Philippians 2:6-11 fulfilled).
The righteous and just judge before whom all will stand to be judged. (Hebrews 9:27)
Hebrews 9:27 NLT
27 And just as each person is destined to die once and after that comes judgment,

(1) Revelation is full of signs and symbols
(a) Always represent concrete realities.
Revelation interprets about 1/2 of the symbols.

B- The blessing is for those who give heed to the message of the revelation.
1- Reading and hearing this prophecy blesses the heart.
2- Keeping = obeying the call to prepare for the coming of Christ.
a. Are you prepared for the Lord’s return?
As a Christian, will Christ be pleased with your life when He returns?
If you are not saved, you need to prepare by trusting Christ and choosing to become his disciple.
b. Reading the Revelation is like reading the last chapter of a book to find out how it ends. The Revelation reveals the last chapter of this world’s existence.
