Christ: The Foundation of All Truth

Introduction

What’s up everybody? It is so good to be back with everyone again tonight as we open God’s Word and mine it for all of its wealth!!!

We are continuing our study through the book of Colossians tonight, and we are going to pick up in Colossians 2:8-23.

If you have not been watching the news, today/tonight is very important concerning the future of our nation over the next four years, and quite possibly for much longer than that. If you would, I ask each of you to join me in prayer as we pray for our nation, all of its leaders, our government, its officials, and our churches.

Christ Vs. Philosophy (Col. 2:8-15)

Philosophy - the rational investigation of the truths and principles of being, knowledge, or conduct.

Deceitful Doctrines

According to the tradition of men.

According to the principles of the world.

Not according to Christ

Divine Doctrines

God is fully portrayed in Christ. (vs. 9)

Christ is Almighty. (vs. 10)

We are made complete in Christ. (Vs. 10)

Eternal Life comes through faith in Jesus Christ. (Vs. 11-15)

Die out to sin (Vs. 11)

Buried with Him in Baptism (Vs. 12)

Resurrected with Him through faith (Vs. 12)

Restored/Redeemed through forgiveness (Vs. 13)

Made alive together with Him (Vs. 13)

Freed us from the law (Vs. 14)

Overcame all other powers publicly (Vs. 15)

Christ Vs. Law & False Religions (Col.2:16-23)

Food or Drink

Festivals

New Moons

Sabbaths

They all point forward to Christ, but are fulfilled in Christ.
