Here's what the school's program said about "Peace Child" the musical:
In Papua, New Guinea, when warring tribes make peace, they each exchange a child. The children grow up in the other's tribe, and if, in the future, conflict threatened between the two tribes, that child is sent to negotiate the peace. Such a child is called a Peace Child.
The musical PEACE CHILD is set on Peace Day, a future global holiday celebrating the day peace broke out around the world. It tells a fantasy story about two young people from different parts of the world who work together to help create world peace.
