And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.

Marriage Supper of the Lamb— Righteousness: the Marriage Supper will have a pure and prepared bride. Note two significant points.
1. The bride, , the followers of Yeshua, prepares herself. How?
a. A believer prepares himself by receiving the Lamb of God as his Savior. A person will not be at the Marriage Supper of the Lamb unless he accepts the sacrifice of the Lamb as the sacrifice for his own sins. Being born again is the first righteous deed by faith
Slide Israel is God’s wife. Isaiah 54:4-8 4 Fear not; for thou shalt not be ashamed: neither be thou confounded; for thou shalt not be put to shame: for thou shalt forget the shame of thy youth, and shalt not remember the reproach of thy widowhood any more. 5 For thy Maker is thine husband; the LORD of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called. 6 For the LORD hath called thee as a woman forsaken and grieved in spirit, and a wife of youth, when thou wast refused, saith thy God. 7 For a small moment have I forsaken thee; but with great mercies will I gather thee. 8 In a little wrath I hid my face from thee for a moment; but with everlasting kindness will I have mercy on thee, saith the LORD thy Redeemer.
Hosea 2:19 (KJV) 19 And I will betroth thee unto me for ever; yea, I will betroth thee unto me in righteousness, and in judgment, and in lovingkindness, and in mercies.
Saved Jews and Gentiles are one in the Messiah.
The apostle Paul speaking to the Gentile believers 2 Corinthians 11:2 2 For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. ( Israel is the bride of the Father in Bible ) Corinthian church gentiles
Slide Ephesians 2:11-16 (KJV) 11 Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands; 12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: 13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. 14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; 15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; 16 And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:

VS 8 8 And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.
The brides clothing fine linen,
What did the bride wear?" is the usual question asked after a wedding. The Lamb's bride is dressed "in the righteous acts of the saints" .
· The purpose of the judgment seat of Christ is to clean us up and special eternal rewards for the works we have done on earth.
· There will be no rewards for those that were saved but never followed him
· When the bride arrives in heaven at the Judgment Seat of Christ, she will not be beautiful (in fact, she was covered with spots, wrinkles, and blemishes according to Ephesians 5:27 (KJV) 27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. But now she is radiant in her glory. She has "made herself ready" for the public ceremony.
· Pure linen was mandatory apparel for the high priest entering the holy of holies (Leviticus 16:4 b (KJV) 4 He shall put on the holy linen coat, and he shall have the linen breeches upon his flesh, and shall be girded with a linen girdle, and with the linen mitre shall he be attired
· clean and white we will be made totally clean at the judgment seat of Christ. Any unconfessed sins at the rapture will be gone
when God says clean it means 100% pure
white means without any dirt. We have never seen anything that is pure white here on earth.
The fine linen is the righteousness we have through salvation in Yeshua.
b. The believer is also to do other righteous deeds He is to serve the Lamb of God to the fullest degree possible.
Some people are saved but
1. they never follow the Lord they are spiritual infants that don’t grow.
2. Some are like shooting stars they are bright for a while but then they fade away
—all born-again believers—will already be in heaven. They will be accepted and made perfect in the righteousness of Yeshua . They have robes that are white and pure.
note: when they get ready to attend the great Marriage Supper of the Lamb, God will give believers another garment that is made of fine linen that will be clean and white.
What is the other garment? It is...
• the garment of righteous deeds and acts.
• the garment of reward.
• the garment that shows position and responsibility.
• the garment that rewards one for faithfulness.
· Remember: The Bible declares emphatically that there will be rewards and positions in the millennium and the new heavens and earth,
· degrees of responsibility and duty assigned to all of us.
· The unfaithful and half-faithful will not be assigned as high a position as the faithful;
· they will not be as greatly rewarded.
· We shall all be perfected and glorified in heaven, but we will not all rule and reign in equal positions.
· The whole universe, both heaven and earth, are to be remade, perfected, and made alive. The Lord is going to have His followers looking after the universe for Him.
9 And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.
Jewish weddings in that day were not like other weddings
1. First, there was an engagement, usually made by the parents when the prospective bride and groom were quite young. This engagement was binding and could be broken only by a form of divorce. Any unfaithfulness during the engagement was considered adultery.
2. When the public ceremony was to be enacted, the groom would go to the bride's house and claim her for himself.
3. He would take her to his home for the wedding supper, and all the guests would join the happy couple. This feast could last as long as a week.
The bride of the messiah
Rapture than the judgment seat of Christ and then the marriage supper of the Lamb
wedding in Italy
focus is not on bride but on the messiah
8 to her was granted—Although in one sense the church must make herself ready for the marriage, in another sense it is not the church, but rather her Lord, who makes her ready by permitting her to wear fine linen, clean and white. It is further noted that the fine linen represents the righteousness [or, righteous deeds] of saints—Each saint must have this righteousness. Count Zinzendorf started a hymn with these lines: "God's Christ, who is my righteousness, / My beauty is, my glorious dress." See Isaiah 61:10; Zechariah 3:4, 2 Corinthians 5:21.
9 Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb—Those who accept God's calling are the true believers (see Matt. 9:13; Rom. 8:30; 1 Cor. 1:9). In ancient times, "the wedding supper began toward evening of the wedding day and lasted many days, and was a time of great jubilation. Here in Revelation, the wedding is the beginning of the earthly kingdom of God" (Johnson). The celebration and jubilation of this wedding will usher the saints into the millennial kingdom (20:6). These are the true sayings of God—"True" means "genuine," veritable sayings which shall be fulfilled. The sayings must relate especially to the visions beginning at 17:1. The statement in 21:6 includes the entire book.
John the Baptist called himself “the friend of the bridegroom” (John 3:29)—“the friend of the bridegroom[1]
2 Corinthians 5:10 tell us "For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad."
In addition, Romans 14:10-12 reads, "But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God."
Rev 19:7. The wording of verse Rev 19:7 is unusual and must not be overlooked. In normal parlance the wedding is spoken of as the marriage of the bride, but here it is the marriage of the Lamb. And rightly so, for the chief joy is His. It takes place in heaven, and no details are given. Care is to be exercised in speaking of the relationship of Israel and the church with reference to marriage, so that biblical norms are not violated. Israel is the unfaithful, yet to be reclaimed, wife of the Lord in the Old Testament; the church is the bride of Christ the Lamb in the New Testament. Once the wife or bride is mentioned, there is no further reference in the book to elders as in verse Rev 19:4.
Rev 19:8. For this glorious occasion the bride of necessity had to make herself ready. The preparation includes: (1) acceptance of the marriage offer of the Lamb, which is regeneration; (2) the desire to be properly clothed for the wedding; (3) a willingness to receive what is given her for the joyous event. When the bride clothes herself, it is with the finest of apparel. Her basic clothing is the garment of salvation, which she received at her acceptance of the Lamb’s gracious offer of marriage (cf. Isa 61:10). Now, in addition to the initial clothing, she has granted to her (still all of grace) fine linen, clean and white. It is identified as the righteous acts (Gr is plural, dikaio¯mata) of the saints. How has she obtained these? It is inescapable that the judgment seat of Christ has already been held in order to grant rewards to the saints for faithful service to Christ (cf. II Cor 5:10). What a recognition day that will be!
Rev 19:9. But another important element of every wedding is the guests, so John is instructed to indicate Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. These are the friends of the Bridegroom (cf. Jn 3:29); the guests are seen in another figure as the virgins, the companions of the bride (cf. Ps 45:9, Ps 45:14). They are probably all Old Testament saints. All others than the church are the guests at the marriage supper. Lest some reader consider these words to be too good to be true, the mediating angel (cf. Rev 1:1) informs the apostle that the words are sure and certain; they come from God.
Rev 19:10. I fell at his feet to worship him. The disclosure of truth was so marvelous, and perhaps the appearance of the angel was so striking, that John was moved to worship at his feet. When John did this at Christ’s feet (cf. Rev 1:17), he received no rebuke, but was rather delivered from fear. But in this verse, and in Rev 22:8-9, the apostle is forbidden such worship; for no creature in heaven, on earth, or under the earth is permitted to receive man’s worship. Men may receive honor and respect (cf. Rom 12:10; Ro 13:7), but no creature may receive worship. Angels are servants on the basis of creation; believers are servants on the basis of redemption. All homage and worship belong to Jesus, to whom all prophecy points. The last sentence in verse Rev 19:10 is one of the most important in all Scripture. For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. Plainly stated, it declares that the witness and testimony that are borne to Jesus are the motivating and underlying purpose of all prophecy. Prophecy is meant to convey an indispensable witness to Jesus.
C. The Visible Coming of Christ. 19:11-16.
Rev 19:11. And I saw heaven opened. Now heaven is opened to the gaze of John; he had seen it open several times before (cf. Rev 4:1 et al), but never on such a sight as this (cf. Acts 1:11; esp. Rev 1:7). Here John sees the One with dyed garments from Bozrah of Isaiah’s prophecy, the Righteous Branch and King of Jeremiah’s prediction, the returning Shekinah Glory of Ezekiel’s foretelling, the Stone cut out without hands of Daniel’s announcement, the Lord coming with His saints of Zechariah’s prophecy, and the appearing of the Son of Man of the Saviour’s own prophecy (cf. Mt 24:29, Mt 24:30). The white horse symbolizes victory and triumph. He is Faithful and True in His character and every deed. Indeed, He is the mighty Warrior who will right the world’s every ill (cf. Acts 17:31). He doth judge and make war under the same principle, that is, righteousness.
Rev 19:12. The description of His glorious Person continues. That His eyes were as a flame of fire indicates penetrating scrutinizing omniscience. On that blessed head, once crowned at Calvary for sinful men, were many crowns. His is supreme authority. Saints have crowns; He has many crowns. The Roman beast (cf. Rev 13:1) has crowns also, but only because he assumes absolute authority. But how can one head have many crowns? They are in tiers, one above another, indicating highest majesty and authority. Many things have been divulged in the Apocalypse so far, and more will follow to the end of the book; but there are certain elements which must remain hidden from man (cf. Deut 29:29). From scriptural usage it is known that the name written indicates His own essential glory, which expresses the fullness of His divine nature.
King James Bible Commentary.
10 John fell at the angel's feet and intended to worship him (cf. 22:8) because the angel had revealed to him the glory of God's people. But the angel reminds John that he too is simply a fellow servant of God, just as the apostle was and as his brother Christians are who testify of their faith in Jesus. This testifying comes from Jesus, for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. It is the result of the same spirit of prophecy in John as in the angel. Angels and apostles alike have the testimony of Jesus by the operation of one and the same Spirit. Therefore, the angel identifies himself as a fellow servant with John (cf. 22:9). This "testimony" includes the historic witness of Jesus as recorded in the Gospels, as well as the continuing witness of his Spirit.
7 for the marriage of the Lamb is come—The wedding feast of the Lamb (Jesus Christ) with his bride (the church) is now to begin. In the OT God and his people were described as husband and wife (Isa. 54:5-7; Hos. 2:19), and so also in the NT (Matt. 22:2; 25:6, 10; 2 Cor. 11:2; Eph. 5:25-32). The marriage union between God and his people both in the OT age and NT age will be consummated at the time of this wedding feast (19:9). his wife hath made herself ready—lit., "his wife prepared herself." This statement anticipates 21:2, where we see the new Jerusalem "prepared as a bride adorned for her husband." The process of preparation takes a lifetime for each believer and thousands of years for the entire bride. Evidently, the bride is still not ready—or Christ, the bridegroom, would have come for her. Jesus' parables on the entrance into the wedding feast (Matt. 22:2-14); the ten virgins (Matt. 25:1-13), and Paul's portrayal of Christ and the church as husband and wife (Eph. 5:25-32) all speak of the process of preparation.
