Intro:

What the bottle is labeled should reflect what is in the bottle.

Lead into the text:

Luke 6 chapter is similar to Matthews sermon on the mount chapter. Luke has Jesus deliberating as sermon in the plain here and the account is shorter than Matthew’s account. The content of this chapter deals with the Christ message after the selecting of the twelve. The topics preceding our text today deal with the Beatitudes, Warnings to the proud and rich, teaching on loving your enemies, judging and our lesson addresses integrity.
Let us listen to Jesus teaching ....
Luke 6:43–45 NLT
43 “A good tree can’t produce bad fruit, and a bad tree can’t produce good fruit. 44 A tree is identified by its fruit. Figs are never gathered from thornbushes, and grapes are not picked from bramble bushes. 45 A good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart, and an evil person produces evil things from the treasury of an evil heart. What you say flows from what is in your heart.

Who are you?

ARe you know by your fruit?
Are you known by the quality of your fruit?
Luke 6:43–44 NLT
43 “A good tree can’t produce bad fruit, and a bad tree can’t produce good fruit. 44 A tree is identified by its fruit. Figs are never gathered from thornbushes, and grapes are not picked from bramble bushes.

Good tree cannot produce bad fruit!

You are who you are.
Your words and you actions define who you are.
God does not separate our actions from our words.
Who you are is expressed in the fruit you produced.
What is in you will be measured by what comes out.

Bad tree cannot produce good fruit

You can try to have a fine polish and finish to cover the cracks, stains and imperfections you have for a while but they too will fade. The true character will be revealed eventually. Our actions and words reflect what is truly in the heart.
Luke 6:44 NLT
44 A tree is identified by its fruit. Figs are never gathered from thornbushes, and grapes are not picked from bramble bushes.
How do your actions and words define you are how God calls us to live.
Your words are as good as your actions and should reflect one another.

God calls us to live with Integrity

Integrity- adherence to moral and ethical principles; soundness of moral character; honesty.
Luke 6:45 NLT
45 A good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart, and an evil person produces evil things from the treasury of an evil heart. What you say flows from what is in your heart.

Living with integrity is what God calls us to do.

Living for the Lord should be a reflected in our words and deeds.
This truth is taught in the word of God as written by John in his letter we know as 1 John 3:18.
1 John 3:18 NLT
18 Dear children, let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions.

Fill yourself with love

What is your treasure?
What do you value?
What are your values?
Your values will guide you in your life.
The Word of the Lord will teach you how to live.
Let the word of the Lord lead your growth.

Your heart is your treasure be careful with what you put in your heart.

Jeremiah 17:9–10 NLT
9 “The human heart is the most deceitful of all things, and desperately wicked. Who really knows how bad it is? 10 But I, the Lord, search all hearts and examine secret motives. I give all people their due rewards, according to what their actions deserve.”
What is in your heart will come out. Let me read again Luke 6:45...
Luke 6:45 NLT
45 A good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart, and an evil person produces evil things from the treasury of an evil heart. What you say flows from what is in your heart.

God is filled with Love and pours it on us.

God shows us how to be filled with love.
