Again St. Peter says Jesus Christ is the Lord of all, anointed with the Holy Spirit and power went about doing Good, healing all those oppressed by the devil, for God was with him. Dear ones, That’s the Gospel Truth. But God is also with us, through our own baptisms, anointed us with the Holy Spirit has opened our eyes and ears to see the truth know the truth and and accept it. God is with us, he has not give us a spirit of fear, but a spirit of power and self control, to go about doing good, healing all those oppressed, setting the captive free, with God’s Truth, mercy and Love thorough Christ the Lord of all.

Introduction

Today we Celebrate the Feast of the baptism of the Lord. Every thing Jesus did was to accomplish the will of His Father for humanity here on earth. I can’t think of anything Jesus did for himself, for his own benefit, other than to eat and drink and pray to sustain his humanity so that we can sustain our own humanity in him.

Body

And thus in the Gospel Jesus comes to John the Baptist to fulfill all things. After John baptizes Jesus he says he saw heaven tearing open and the Spirit descending upon Jesus like a dove, John says he heard a voice from heaven telling Jesus you are my beloved Son with whom I am well pleased. In our Second reading St. Peter before baptising the household of Roman Centurion says In Truth, I see that God shows no partiality, that is God is not racist, nor sexist, or whatever “predigest”, he accepts all who come to him sincerely seeking the truth. Jesus’ baptism opened up heaven for humanity to see the truth know the truth and accept the Truth. But not all will accept it. In the Gospel of John Jesus says, the Father will give another advocate the Spirit of Truth which the world cannot accept, because it neither sees, nor know it.
