Fruit Bearing Labourer’s

John 15:16 The Message
16 “You didn’t choose me, remember; I chose you, and put you in the world to bear fruit, fruit that won’t spoil. As fruit bearers, whatever you ask the Father in relation to me, he gives you.
Matthew 9:35–38 AV
35 And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. 36 But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. 37 Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; 38 Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.
1. We can all agree that as we read
Matthew 9:35
Jesus makes a profound statement the Harvest field (souls) is plenteous
Labourer’s are few (soul winner’s)
Pray he will send forth labourers into harvest
2. God Choose You: and your pastor picked you!!
3. He Put you in the world/Church to bear fruit
4. Your Fruit won’t spoil/it will remain
John: An Introduction and Commentary i. The True Vine and Its Branches (15:1–17)

This fruit is described as fruit that will last. The word ‘last’ translates menē. The same word is used to speak of three other things that last: the ‘food’ that the Son of Man will give, which endures (menousan) to eternal life (6:27); the son, not the slave, who has a permanent place (menei) in the family (8:35); and the Christ who remains (menei) for ever and does not die (12:34). Noting these parallels, we can say ‘fruit that will last’ denotes the eternal significance of life and ministry carried out in obedience to Jesus,17 and here in particular new believers.

5. As fruit bearers, whatever you ask the Father in relation to me, he gives you.
Jesus made this promise to those who go and bear fruit: Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. This is the third of four remarkable promises Jesus made concerning prayer
(15:1–17) (14:13–14; 15:7–8, 16–17; 16:23–24).
In each case the promise is conditional. In 15:16 the promise is conditional upon two things:
the disciples carrying out their commission to go and bear fruit
and prayer being made in Jesus’ name
Matthew 9:35–38 AMP
35 And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the good news (the Gospel) of the kingdom and curing all kinds of disease and every weakness and infirmity. 36 When He saw the throngs, He was moved with pity and sympathy for them, because they were bewildered (harassed and distressed and dejected and helpless), like sheep without a shepherd. 37 Then He said to His disciples, The harvest is indeed plentiful, but the laborers are few. 38 So pray to the Lord of the harvest to force out and thrust laborers into His harvest.
Greek/ Harvest: the gathering of ripened Crop
Matthew 9:37–38 TPT
37 He turned to his disciples and said, “The harvest is huge and ripe! But there are not enough harvesters to bring it all in. 38 As you go, plead with the Owner of the Harvest to thrust out many more reapers to harvest his grain!”
Matthew 9:37–38 NCV
37 Jesus said to his followers, “There are many people to harvest but only a few workers to help harvest them. 38 Pray to the Lord, who owns the harvest, that he will send more workers to gather his harvest.”
The harvest are ripe unbelievers who are ready to be plucked.
Jude 23 NLT
23 Rescue others by snatching them from the flames of judgment. Show mercy to still others, but do so with great caution, hating the sins that contaminate their lives.
