I Am A Sheep - John 10:1-42
Ken Davis Preacher and Christian Comedian tells in one of his messages on Super sheep tells how vulnerable sheep are, they used to raise them and he knows from personal experience they are not the smartest animals out there. They follow each other. I've often wondered, Why is it so important to fit in with this world? Why are we so concerned about them thinking we are normal. I think I mentioned recently occasionally my wife and I will go to the mall. Oh the sights, Rings all over from eyebrows down, hair all shapes and colors, wildest clothing chains hanging all over or so tight and revealing you know they can't be comfortable, but my wife is the one that is starred at. What's normal? Sheep will follow one another. If one goes into a corner they all have to go there and will suffocate one another if you don't rescue them. If one walks off a cliff they will all do it. Ken Davis told how they lost several sheep once because of that.
Dr. Andrew Bonar told me how, in the Highlands of Scotland, a sheep would often wander off into the rocks and get into places that they couldn't get out of. The grass on these mountains is very sweet and the sheep like it, and they will jump down ten or twelve feet, and then they can't jump back again, and the shepherd hears them bleating in distress. They may be there for days, until they have eaten all the grass. The shepherd will wait until they are so faint they cannot stand, and then they will put a rope around him, and he will go over and pull that sheep up out of the jaws of death. "Why don't they go down there when the sheep first gets there?" I asked. "Ah!" He said, "they are so very foolish they would dash right over the precipice and be killed if they did!" And that is the way with men; they won't go back to God till they have no friends and have lost everything. If you are a wanderer I tell you that the Good Shepherd will bring you back the moment you have given up trying to save yourself and are willing to let Him save you His own way.
Moody's Anecdotes, pp. 70-71.
Sheep are terrified by loud noises. They can even die from them. He mentioned how that during thunderstorms if it was too loud they would die.

The Bible tells us the Devil is as a roaring lion roaming about seeking whom he may destroy. It's almost as if you can see him standing there his mane blowing in the wind his eyes keen his tail flicking in the sunlight watching the sheep in the plain below just waiting for one to stray just a little bit, when suddenly he sees it, A young one who is trailing behind just a little too much. The lion begins to stalk through the underbrush then breaks out into a run and at just the right moment he begins to pounce he lets out a loud roar. The sheep turns to see this lion he can't run, he can't fight, he can't do anything but baaa, baaa, baaa, that's when the shepherd hears his voice and turns to destroy the work of the devil and save his sheep. Look at verse 27-29. Sure we can sin and be taken out of his hand but nothing else can do that. I don't care how the devil roars, I don't care how fast he is coming. Is it any wonder David wrote, The Lord is my Shepherd I shall not want. Sheep need a shepherd, There is ONE and He takes care of His sheep.
