We have discussed the crying stones A-D. Finding out that all of these have been documented by credible sources and help to show the history presented in the Bible is accurate.
I think we will for time's sake skip the remaining crying stones. If there are any questions about them I will try my best to answer them. There is a link on our rescoures page that will probably tell it better anyhow.
The Silent Stones.
2. Discovieries that cast doubt on the authenticity of the Bible
"There are some scholars who would say that certain arc discoveries do not agree with the Bible. But when we do an in depth annyalis of the arc for those places and for thoses so called problesms we find the problem is not with the Bible it's rather with the arc and so we need to do a more in depth study of the arc whe that research is done the arc always agrees with the Bible" Dr. Bryant Wood Archeologist
A. "Of the hundreds of thousands of artifacts found by archaeologists, not one has ever been discovered that counterdicts or denies one word, prhase, clause or sentecne of the Bible, but always confirms and verifies the Facts of Biblical record." Dr. J.O. Kinnaman
The Bible in the Bunsen Burner
A Bunsen burner is a common piece of laboratory equipment. It is commonly used for heating chemical substances, sterilization, and combustion. It works by burning flammable gas, usually Methane. It is designed to produce a hot, smokeless and sootless flame.
That is what we want to do in this section of the Bible. Let's put the heat to it and see if it will stand the test.
B. Scientifically - Now the Bible is not a book about science. It is not written to answer questions about science, However the inspirier of the Bible, Created science. Here are just a few mentions of Scientific facts found in scripture and might I add scientist would have proably saved themselves a lot of time and money had they consulted it first.
1. Astronomy - The science which teaches the knowledge of the celestial bodies. Depends on observations made cheifly with instruments, and upon mathematical calculations. There is mention in the scriptures of Orion, The Zodiac Constellations and it is said according to Josephus that Seth named the stars. It is even been said and written that the Gospel message is in the stars. While God may have purposfully done this, the Gospel message is complete in the Bible, and so it should only be used as an example of the greatness of God or to help illustrate the Gospel. The Word of God should always be used. One has said it better,
"Caution is needed when searching for the gospel in the stars, since constellation symbols can have many possible interpretations. "
A. I am told that on a clear night one might count up to somewhere in the neighborhood of 6,000 stars. That is just a few compared to how many are really thee. Thousands and thousands of stars cannot be seen by just the naked eye. Telescopes and camera's help to view them, however counting by hand, just one picture can take months to add up.
1. Ravi Zaccarias tells the story of one of his astonomy freinds showing him a little slide. He was told that it would take over a hundred years to count all the stars on that little slide giving each star a second.
2. It is estimated that there is as many stars as there are grains of sand, although some would argue that point. I don't know that the number matters as much as the scope of what the Bible has to say about them.
Genesis 22:17 Blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply your descendants as the stars of the heaven and as the sand which is on the seashore; and your descendants shall possess the gate of their enemies.
Jeremiah 33:22 “As the host of heaven cannot be numbered, nor the sand of the sea measured, so will I multiply the descendants of David My servant and the Levites who minister to Me.”
It is interesting according to one scientist there is somewhere in the ballpark of 100 billion stars in our galaxy (+/- a billion. ) I can't comprehend that. With about as many galaxies.
Lets try to illustrate this a little better. Take a penny. A small coin, almost considered useless yet if we had 100 billion which there are only about 140 billion in circulation. "If you took these hundred billion pennies and laid them out like a carpet, you could cover 14square miles. Compare that to Manhattan Island, which measures 22 square miles." http://www.kokogiak.com/megapenny/eleven.asp
If you wanted to make a neat stack out of them it would take over 4.1 million stacks of 24,330 pennies. That would be 126.72 feet, wide, high, thick, weighing in at only 312,555.2 TONS. If stacked all together in on stack it would be 98,660 miles high. Most passenger airlinners fly from 32,000 to 40,000 feet.
Lets use $1.00 If you had 100 billion taped end to end it would wrap around the earth 387 times.
Let's try something maybe the women can relate to a little better. Have you really ever shopped till you dropped? You'd have to if you had 100 billion dollars. You would have to spend 20 dollars every second for about 3,170 years.
I still don't get it do you? All I can say is "WOW, what a mighty God we serve."
God knew what he meant when he said the host of heaven cannot be counted. Astronomy is the oldest science. People have been studing the stars and the sky for as long as there has been people. And they still don't have an exact number of how many stars there are. Lets just say the earth is 6,000 years old. Couldn't they have come closer to an exact number by now? Not when they are innumberable.
My research and brain is soon exhausted on this subject, but I can tell you a little about the God of this Book, Psa. 147:4 HE telleth the number of the stars; HE calleth them all by their names.
Again, "What A Mighty God we serve,What a mighty Book we have."
