D. Jericho - A huge city impossible by all human standpoints to conquer without a long siege and terrible bloodshed.
1. It was considered for years and years a myth
A. 1950’s Kathleen Kenyon who went to dig at the site wrote, “It is a sad fact that the town walls of the Late Bronze Age, within which period the attack by the Israelites must fall by any dating, not a trace remains… The excavation of Jericho, therefore has thrown no light on the walls of Jericho of which the destruction is so vividly described in the Book of Joshua.”
B. Other’s said the same thing. No trace can be found of a so called Jericho.
1. What is wrong with this? Well if a part even a teeny tiny part is wrong, what’s the use in keeping any of it? That is what is wrong with this kind of critical thinking.
C. An article in Creation Magazine 1999 by archeologist Bryant Wood says, “…a careful examination of the archaeological evidence collected throughout this century leads to quite another conclusion….The
meticulous work of Kenyon showed that Jericho was indeed heavily fortified and that it had been burned by fire. Unfortunately, she misdated her finds, resulting in what seemed to be a discrepancy between the discoveries of archaeology and the Bible. She concluded that the Bronze Age city of Jericho was destroyed about 1550 B.C. by the Egyptians. An in-depth analysis of the evidence, however, reveals that the destruction took place around 1400 B.C.
(end of the Late Bronze I period), exactly when the Bible says the conquest occurred”
D. Lets look for a moment at the city of Jericho. LOOK AT ARTICLE
E. Let’s look at King David. We all know him as the one who slew Goliath, ran from Saul, was later anointed king, had an affair with Uriah’s wife, ran from Absolom and was the father of Solomon. But many skeptics claim David never existed. There was no mention of him other than in the Bible. As we can see in today’s culture, they want an educational system based on atheistic ideas rather than one that is acutally founded upon fact, and evidence, that will never wear out, contraray to the public opinon and statements of the nearly worshiped current president who recently in a speech on his stands and hopeful policies for the LGBT community, made this statement, “There are unjust laws to overturn and unfair practices to stop. And though we've made progress, there are still fellow citizens, perhaps neighbors or even family members and loved ones, who still hold fast to worn arguments and old attitudes; who fail to see your families like their families; and who would deny you the rights that most Americans take for granted.”

I think it’s very clear what, “worn arguments and old attitudes” he’s talking about when you look at the policies and laws he’s supporting, proposing, and promoting. But enough of politics, It’s the same old tune that skeptics were taking with King David,
1. Some recent discoveries,
A. 1993 the “Tel Dan Stele” was discovered, in northern Isreal. This was Aramaic writing carved into a stone. It had been broken and was used as a filler in a wall . It was dated to be from the 9th century bc It refers to a Aramaic king who claims to have killed the king of the House of David and the king of Isreal.
1. This was the first inscription of the King David found in Isreal. This shows that there was such a King.
2. House of David means the Kingdom of Judah.
3. This was called a fake by the skeptics, to save face. Their call was again wrong as the next summer two more fragments were found of the orginal inscription. Confirming that it reffered to David as the King of Israel.
4. Another 9th century inscription was found by a French medical missionary F.A. Kline which was written by King Maasha of Moab written in Moabite almost identical to Hebrew and again refers to the House of David
There exists today not one unquestionable find of archeology that proves the Bible to in error at any point. Dr. Henry M Morris Scientist and founder of ICR
