Psalm 142:4 ( No man cared for my soul) Luke 16:19-31 (Rich man) Ezekiel 34:6-15 (slacking shepherds)
Hell isn’t really a place we like to talk about much. In fact the preaching on it has become more and more unpopular, however according to the Bible such a place exists. A place of torment, judgment, wrath, unquenchable fire, eternal death prepared for the devil and his angels. It’s a place I don’t want or intend to go to. I have made arrangements with God to miss that place and intend to keep my integrity with God.
This is the place the rich man went to, a place where he lifted up his eyes being in torment. This wasn’t the place that he expected to go to. He had lived his life in ease, luxury, happiness as far as having anything he wanted. Life just seemed to go his way. It was the perfect picture of that old children’s song, “Row row row your boat, gently down the stream, merrily merrily merrily merrily life is but a dream. But one day you have to wake up.
This is what I’d like to talk to you about, Merrily Men Go To Hell. And may I ask, “Who Cares?”
About 2 people die every second, that adds up to 120 every hour, 172,800 every day 63,072,000 a year how many are born again Christians? Does that bother us? Do we care do we ever cry about it? God help us for the most part these souls have been allowed to row row row their boat gently down the stream merrily merrily merrily leave life a dream. But now its wake up time and too late to do anything about it. I shudder at that portion of scripture “who among us shall dwell in the everlasting burning?” Does any one else care?
I. Merrily we let people go to hell without;
1. Ever waving the red flag- The lantern and red flags on tracks and roads.
Story of EMS man at the bridge collapse in OK a few years ago trying to stop traffic didn’t know any other way than this. Grabbed a flare he had lit it and threw it at the windshield of a huge semi in front of a large line of traffic. The man’s face showed he didn’t look too happy but when he realized what was a head it was a different story. We may have to be drastic or radical in our approaches, with wisdom of course
The safest road to hell is the gradual one--the gentle slope, soft underfoot, without sudden turnings, without milestones, without signposts.
C.S. Lewis.

III. I want to weep over the lost. I want to be afraid of facing God with empty hands.
Do we understand that when people die without God, that they go to hell? Do we know that, are we doing anything about it? Does it bother us? All around us men are merrily going to a devil’s hell, do we care?”
