WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO WITH JESUS?

When you read through the book of John it is very clear that know one knew what to do with Jesus.

The Pharisees tried to disprove Him and put an end to Him (John 11:48)

Many people following and looking for Jesus but dont talk about Him positively (John 7:13)

The disciples dont believe Jesus till chapter 16 (in a 21 chapter book)

A few recognized Jesus early

John the Baptist recognize Him as Lamb of God to take away sins of the World(John 1:29)

The Blind man recognized him (John 9:38)

Nicodemus who didn't understand (in John 3) finally understood Jesus in (John 19:39)

Mary Mag recognized Jesus death to being important (John 12:3)

You either recognize Him or you do not.

Jesus over and over again in Joh says that you will only understand Jesus if you belong to Him

John 10:14–16 NKJV

I am the good shepherd; and I know My sheep, and am known by My own. As the Father knows Me, even so I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep. And other sheep I have which are not of this fold; them also I must bring, and they will hear My voice; and there will be one flock and one shepherd.

Jesus said to those that dont recognize Him and belong to Him

John 8:42–45 NLT

Jesus told them, “If God were your Father, you would love me, because I have come to you from God. I am not here on my own, but he sent me. Why can’t you understand what I am saying? It’s because you can’t even hear me! For you are the children of your father the devil, and you love to do the evil things he does. He was a murderer from the beginning. He has always hated the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, it is consistent with his character; for he is a liar and the father of lies. So when I tell the truth, you just naturally don’t believe me!

So you are of Jesus or of the devil

So either you have recognized Jesus or you do not belong to Him

So here is Jesus titled many things in this book:

The Word, the light, the Lamb, the shpeherd, the Gate, the bread of life, the living water, the ressurection and the life, Lord, Savior, Messiah

Have you recognized Him?

If not good news: John is called a gospel which means good news:

John 20:30–31 NKJV

And truly Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book; but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.

So John was written so that we would believe and have life.

Kinda funny because he is writing to people who will be be alive when they read it

you have to be alive to read right?

Thats not what he is saying...

just like Jesus said that there are seeing people that are blind in John 9

there are people that are alive but dead

The book of John is all about the dead coming to life.

John 5:25 NKJV

Most assuredly, I say to you, the hour is coming, and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God; and those who hear will live.

Jesus is the light of life

John 8:12 NKJV

Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”

This is a bold statement either you believe Him like a few did

or like disciples the wrong idea of who Jesus is and have to start over.

or like Pharisees and you need to prove Jesus a liar, or wrong

or like many people be interested in Jesus but never talk about Him publically
