Integrity-
Max De Pree observes "behavior is the highest form of expression."19 When people's actions accurately mirror their beliefs and values, their life has integrity.Webster's dictionary defines integrity as: "Adherence to moral and ethical principles; soundness of moral character. Honesty. The state of being whole, entire, or undiminished. A sound, unimpaired, or perfect condition." Integrity demands consistency under every circumstance, including unguarded moments. If leaders are normally peaceable and well mannered but they throw temper tantrums when things go wrong, they lack integrity. If leaders are honest and moral in public but discard those standards in private, their lives lack integrity. When leaders have integrity, their followers always know what to expect.Integrity is best demonstrated during adversity. Anyone can demonstrate integrity if there is nothing to lose in doing so. Thomas More was consigned to the Tower of London because he refused to condone Henry VIII's divorce from Catherine of Aragon. Knowing a refusal to recant would cost him his life, More concluded: "It lieth not in my power but that they may devour me; but God being my good Lord, I will provide that they shall never deflower me."22

June Hunt Biblical Counseling Keys IntegrityThe Greek words aletheia and alethes are translated "integrity" in the New Testament and mean "truth or the state of being true." 1 Jesus is referred to as a man of integrity because He lived wholly in accordance with God's complete truth. "They came to him and said, 'Teacher, we know you are a man of integrity. You aren't swayed by men, because you pay no attention to who they are; but you teach the way of God in accordance with the truth.'" (Mark 12:14)The Old Testament Hebrew word for integrity is tom , from the verb tamam , which means "to be complete, to finish." 2 "Righteousness guards the man of integrity, but wickedness overthrows the sinner." Proverbs 13:6To have moral integrity is to be undivided and consistent in your mind, will and emotions regarding what is right and wrong. 3To have moral integrity is to be undivided and consistent in your mind, will and emotions regarding what is right and wrong. 3Warren W. Wiersbe, The Integrity Crisis 21-22Get Maxwell's info on integrity/hypocrisy etcBESIDES BEING FORGIVEN Many of us are like the little boy who had broken the glass of a streetlamp. Greatly disturbed, he asked his father, "What shall I do?" "Do?" exclaimed his father, "why we must report it and ask what you must pay, then go and settle it." This practical way of dealing with the matter was not what the boy was looking for, and he whimpered, "I—I—thought all I had to do was ask God to forgive me."Ann Landers says, "The true measure of a man is how he treats someone who can do absolutely no good." —Reader's Digest, March 2002, p. 61Former Senator Alan Simpson said: "If you have integrity, nothing else matters. If you don't have integrity, nothing else matters." —Reader's Digest, March 2001, p. 61Not for Sale 193 Basil Miller reported that at the end of the American Civil War, General Lee was broke, as were many of his countrymen. Money was scarce. About that time a state lottery offered him ten thousand dollars a year for the use of his name. He replied, "Gentlemen, my name is all I have left, and that is not for sale"General William F. Dean was a prized prisoner of the Communists during the Korean struggle. One day, the General was advised that he had five minutes in which to write a letter to his family. It appeared to be the end. Calmly he accepted the order and proceeded to write. In the body of this now-historic letter appears a single line worthy of remembrance: "Tell Bill the word is integrity."
