Climbing to new heights for greater personal vision.
Drawing close to God through the Climb.
As I have trained mentors for the past 25 years, I have told them all the same thing.

"You are on a journey with God, and you're inviting others to join you."

There is no doubt God wants to take Reliant on a journey to new heights of influence for the gospel, serving our community, and loving our neighbors, bringing generational transformation in a lasting way.
No matter what the greater good that God wants to accomplish in your life, His journey always Includes you personally.
When God asked Abraham to leave his country so that God would make a great nation of him, God formed a special relationship with Abraham and called him a friend. When God called Moses out of the burning bush to deliver His people, He had to first work on Moses's heart. When God called David to rule over Israel, some trials and tribulations were necessary to build the trust to see it through.
"The servant of God does not function outside the vision in which God is call Him, but is an intrical part of the growing process necessary for the fulfilment of that vision."
In other words, God calls on you because he wants to grow you.
In each of these cases, God started a movement by walking with one man.
Have you ever considered that God brings opportunities into your life to draw you closer to Him through the journey? There is a massive mind shift that takes place when you see God working with you and in you directly or you being a pawn in someone else's game.
Throughout biblical history, God began a greater vision for his people by taking individuals on new adventures of discovery and self-awareness. We could look at the examples of men like Abraham, Moses, David, Jesus, and the disciples of Christ that all had mountaintop experiences that molded their understanding of who they were, who God is, and the vision God had for his people.
There were some mountain top experiences that Moses needed to have to receive explicit instruction from the Lord. (Exodus 24:9-17)

What will it take in 2021 for you to climb to new heights and gain a greater vision for your personal life and those depending on you?
Let me give you three focal points for climbing to new heights for greater vision:

There were some climbs that Abraham needed to make to get a clearer vision from the Lord. God instructed him to take his only son to the top of the mountain and sacrifice him to God. (Genesis 22)
There were some mountain top experiences that Moses needed to have to receive explicit instruction from the Lord. (Exodus 24:9-17)
There were some battles that Jesus needed to fight on the mountain before others could see his earthly ministry. (Matthew 4)
What will it take in 2021 for you to climb to new heights and gain a greater vision for your personal life and through Reliant? If you don’t grow on a personal level with the Lord we will never grow to greater vision corporately.
Let me give you three focal points for climbing to new heights for greater vision:
Clarity in the Path
Confidence in the Guide
Courage for the Climb

Clarity in the Path

God's Word establishes a clear path to follow.

Exodus 3:1–6 ESV
Now Moses was keeping the flock of his father-in-law, Jethro, the priest of Midian, and he led his flock to the west side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God. And the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush. He looked, and behold, the bush was burning, yet it was not consumed. And Moses said, “I will turn aside to see this great sight, why the bush is not burned.” When the Lord saw that he turned aside to see, God called to him out of the bush, “Moses, Moses!” And he said, “Here I am.” Then he said, “Do not come near; take your sandals off your feet, for the place on which you are standing is holy ground.” And he said, “I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” And Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look at God.

Confidence in the Guide

God’s Spirit will guide you in the new path.

Exodus 3:10–12 ESV
Come, I will send you to Pharaoh that you may bring my people, the children of Israel, out of Egypt.” But Moses said to God, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the children of Israel out of Egypt?” He said, “But I will be with you, and this shall be the sign for you, that I have sent you: when you have brought the people out of Egypt, you shall serve God on this mountain.”

God will send others to guide your path as well.

Courage for the Climb

God desires to reveal himself in new ways.

Exodus 24:9–11 ESV
Then Moses and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel went up, and they saw the God of Israel. There was under his feet as it were a pavement of sapphire stone, like the very heaven for clearness. And he did not lay his hand on the chief men of the people of Israel; they beheld God, and ate and drank.
God desires to change you through the encounter.
Exodus 24:12–18 ESV
The Lord said to Moses, “Come up to me on the mountain and wait there, that I may give you the tablets of stone, with the law and the commandment, which I have written for their instruction.” So Moses rose with his assistant Joshua, and Moses went up into the mountain of God. And he said to the elders, “Wait here for us until we return to you. And behold, Aaron and Hur are with you. Whoever has a dispute, let him go to them.” Then Moses went up on the mountain, and the cloud covered the mountain. The glory of the Lord dwelt on Mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days. And on the seventh day he called to Moses out of the midst of the cloud. Now the appearance of the glory of the Lord was like a devouring fire on the top of the mountain in the sight of the people of Israel. Moses entered the cloud and went up on the mountain. And Moses was on the mountain forty days and forty nights.
Next Steps
As a part of Reliant, we have gathered together to pray and hear God’s voice. Asking God to show us how he wants to reveal himself to each of us individually and corporately.
Pray: Express your desire to God to know Him in a greater way as he takes you on a new journey.
Prepare: Submit to the guiding of the Holy Spirit in your life even when it seems scary to do so. Ask God to bring mentors into your life that have walked this road before and can give you some practical advise for the journey ahead.
Pursue: Have the courage to climb the mountain and enter the smoke where the Lord is.
