15 Yes, to this day whenever Moses is read a veil lies over their hearts. 16 But when one turns to the Lord, the veil is removed. 17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. 18 And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.
I. EYES TO SEE
I. EYES TO SEE
15 Yes, to this day whenever Moses is read a veil lies over their hearts. 16 But when one turns to the Lord, the veil is removed.
5 Oh that my ways may be steadfast in keeping your statutes! 6 Then I shall not be put to shame, having my eyes fixed on all your commandments.
15 I will meditate on your precepts and fix my eyes on your ways.
18 Open my eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of your law.
37 Turn my eyes from looking at worthless things; and give me life in your ways.
148 My eyes are awake before the watches of the night, that I may meditate on your promise.
16 But when one turns to the Lord, the veil is removed. 17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
II. WE MUST BEHOLD TO BE TRANSFORMED
II. WE MUST BEHOLD TO BE TRANSFORMED
18 And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.
Seeing is accomplished by meditating on the word of God.
Savoring means we delight in what we see.
Our text tells us that the result of this seeing and savoring will be transformation.
