Hearing God’s Voice

Praying from God’s Throne room. Part 3

As we begin 2021, I believe God is inviting us, his church to pray,

Prayer is how we develop intimacy with God, is how our joy is made complete, how we learn from our Heavenly Father, how we hear his voice, how our faith is built, revelation comes to us through prayer.

Our Heavenly Father is inviting you and me to enter into a new level of relationship with Him.

John the Apostle in the island of Patmos saw a portal leading to the throne room

Rev 4:1 After this I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven! And the first voice which I had heard, like the sound of a [war] trumpet speaking with me, said, "Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after these things."

Rev 4:2 At once I was in [special communication with] the Spirit; and behold, a throne stood in heaven, with One seated on the throne.

I believe your Heavenly wants to welcome you into His presence, in the Throne room.

Let’s Pray

1 God is always speaking to us

From the beginning of creation, God’s desire was to have a relationship with mankind, He walked and talked to them.

Gen 3:8 And they heard the sound of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool [afternoon breeze] of the day, so the man and his wife hid and kept themselves hidden from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden.

Gen 3:9 But the LORD God called to Adam, and said to him, "Where are you?"

We were created out of the perfect love and relationship, the trinity has for each other, Throughout the history of men and specially the bible accounts we read about the many ways God spoke to men and women.

Some heard the voice of God audibly like Moses,

Some through dreams, like Jacob, Joseph, Daniel and many others

Others Through a whisper

Some had visions, John

Others heard God through the prophets like Saul, David and others, through friends

Some saw an angel, who delivered the word of the Lord to them, Like Mary the mother of Jesus.

King David wrote this.

Psa 19:1 To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. The heavens are telling of the glory of God; And the expanse [of heaven] is declaring the work of His hands.

Psa 19:2 Day after day pours forth speech, And night after night reveals knowledge.

Psa 19:3 There is no speech, nor are there [spoken] words [from the stars]; Their voice is not heard.

Psa 19:4 Yet their voice [in quiet evidence] has gone out through all the earth, Their words to the end of the world. In them and in the heavens He has made a tent for the sun,

Without words or speech, the Heavens declares the Glory of God.

God is always trying to speak to us,

We are not always willing to listen

2 Those who follow Jesus, hears His voice

Jesus tells us that His sheep knows His voice

Joh 10:27 The sheep that are My own hear My voice and listen to Me; I know them, and they follow Me.

Joh 10:28 And I give them eternal life, and they will never, ever [by any means] perish; and no one will ever snatch them out of My hand.

If you have surrendered your life to Jesus, and have a relationship with Him, you will know when he speaks to you, life comes with His voice and words, the Spirit of God in you will testify, a simple word from your Heavenly Father will transform your entire life.

How can we hear His voice? By Keeping our hearts clean, if you sin confess your sins to Jesus, repent He will forgive you. Our hearts must be ready to listen and obey. If you have any doubts still, go to trustworthy friends, who hears from God and walk with Him, ask them to confirm that you are hearing from God.

Don’t put God in a box, specially in a religious box, where He speaks this way or with these words, I remember attending meetings where God only spoke in the old King James version.

He will speak to you however He desires; he is not limited by your preference and bias. Your theology or views of Him.

Know that He will never contradict His own word, God is not going to say something opposite to His word, good is not going to be call evil or evil good.

Peace comes with his word, assurance and confidence.

To pray from God’s throne room we need to practice hearing God’s voice daily.

From His throne room comes a river of life

Rev 22:1 Then the angel showed me a river of the water of life, clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb (Christ),

Drink from His river, let it satisfy you and those who Jesus send your way.

Joh 7:37 Now on the last and most important day of the feast, Jesus stood and called out [in a loud voice], "If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink!

Joh 7:38 He who believes in Me [who adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Me], as the Scripture has said, 'From his innermost being will flow continually rivers of living water.'"

3 Come before Your Heavenly Father in faith,

When we come before God, we need to come in faith, because without faith is impossible to please him.

Heb 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to [walk with God and] please Him, for whoever comes [near] to God must [necessarily] believe that God exists and that He rewards those who [earnestly and diligently] seek Him.

As we hear His voice, we must believe that He is who He says he is, believe in His promises, and put it into action, refusing any other voice or idea contrary to what God is saying. Specially our own voice.

Our Heavenly Father will do whatever He says,

Heb 11:1 Now faith is the assurance (title deed, confirmation) of things hoped for (divinely guaranteed), and the evidence of things not seen [the conviction of their reality--faith comprehends as fact what cannot be experienced by the physical senses].

Expect with confidence

Just like you sometimes I hear something in my spirit and I’ m not sure if is God or not, if you have a question ask God to make it clear for you, ask him to intensify your like or dislike of the idea, He will do it for you.

I remember when I was first called to be a pastor, I had been in missions for 14 years.

I loved my time as a missionary, as a family we believe that was what we will do for the rest of our lives, to become a pastor was scary, I heard about the many challenges they had to go through, so I ask the Lord to confirm and make me excited with the idea, within a week, I was certain that becoming a pastor was my new direction, of course my wife had to hear from God too, and He brought that confirmation to our hearts.

Before you go to bed ask the Lord to speak to you, to give you dreams, ask questions, ask for prayers you need to pray. He will answer you.

Listening Prayer is hearing God’s voice

To hear God’s voice

We must be willing to listen, looking forward to hear from the Lord, He is always speaking.

We will recognize His voice

Come to Him full of faith.

making Jesus the lord of our lives

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. Joh 3:16

To receive Him we need to accept Him as God’s son, repent from our sins and a life of selfishness, ask Him to be your Lord and savior, not that you deserve it, but is a gift from God.

Heavenly Father I’m sinner,

I’m sorry for my sins,

I’m willing to turn away from my sins.

I receive Christ as my savior,

I confess him as Lord

from this moment on I want to follow and serve him,

in the fellowship of his church,

In Jesus name. Amen!
