Psalm 14:1–7 NKJV
1 The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, They have done abominable works, There is none who does good. 2 The Lord looks down from heaven upon the children of men, To see if there are any who understand, who seek God. 3 They have all turned aside, They have together become corrupt; There is none who does good, No, not one. 4 Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge, Who eat up my people as they eat bread, And do not call on the Lord? 5 There they are in great fear, For God is with the generation of the righteous. 6 You shame the counsel of the poor, But the Lord is his refuge. 7 Oh, that the salvation of Israel would come out of Zion! When the Lord brings back the captivity of His people, Let Jacob rejoice and Israel be glad.

The Fool

Disbelieving—“There is no God.”
The Beginning of Wisdom is the fear (reverence) of the Lord
It is foolish to deny God - yet many do.
The evidence proving the existence, and Truth of God is overwhelming
Not only an “idea of God” - but the God of the Bible
Not only does overwhelming evidence prove that God is, but also that He is the God of the bible
The evidence from every measurable method is overwhelming
From History
From archeology
From geology
From Science
No such thing as big bang or evolution
No such thing as life without a creator -
From traditional physics to quantum physics
Biology to Astrology
From the microscopic to the galactic black wholes
From relativity and E=MC squared to Dark energy and dark matter
There i nothing that can disprove the bible and all the evidence in fact supports it.
Only The Fool Denies this.
Because He has “Said in His heart”
It begins in the heart - in our innermost being --- our spirit
many learned people have decided that they will not believe in God long before the evidence is considered
And in like manner, many of us have decided that we believe by faith, long before the books are open

They Are Corrupt

Degenerate—“They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.”
The reason so many people do not believe in God is not becasue of the evidence -it is becasue of the heart
People are corrupt int heir hearts
They do abominable things -
If there is a God, then there also is a standard of righteousness
although we like to have standards - right and wrong, we do not want anyone else to tell us what they are ---
We would be OK with a God who is like a genie - at our command
But not a God who says that we are at His Command
They Have all turned aside
there is no one who does good --- no not one!

The Faithful

The Lord Looks Down from Heaven - to see if there are any who understand, who seek Him
The Eyes of the Lord are running to and fro through the whole earth
Faith in God will cause us to seek Him.
Importance of seeking God—divine guidance.
the steps of a good man are ordered
Impact of seeking God—divine power.
He is able to save tot eh uttermost
David said The Lord is my source of strength - of whom shall I be afraid?

The Filthy

Sinful—“They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy.” Compare Isa. 53:6.
Man is born in sin—only God can cleanse him.
Romans 3 tells us the whole world is guilty (condemned before God)
Sin brings consequences - it sticks on us - and on the world
Shame—“There is none that doeth good, no, not one.”
Man by nature doesn’t seek God. But when he sees his need of God, he will seek God and find help.
Ezekiel 36:25–29 NKJV
25 Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean; I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your idols. 26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. 27 I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them. 28 Then you shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; you shall be My people, and I will be your God. 29 I will deliver you from all your uncleannesses. I will call for the grain and multiply it, and bring no famine upon you.
Ezekiel 36:31 NKJV
31 Then you will remember your evil ways and your deeds that were not good; and you will loathe yourselves in your own sight, for your iniquities and your abominations.
Sin is “unclean” it is supposed to be shameful
this is not popular to preach anymore- but it is still the truth
Too many people would rather justify their sin than rise above it
But the Faithful still come to God
1 John 1:8–10 NKJV
8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.
Not many preachers mention this any more, but it is still in the bible -
repentance is part of salvation
The fool who denies God also denies repentance

The Foolish

Without concern—“Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge?”
Too many people - even so called Christians - are not willing to do what it takes to gain knowledge to make intelligent or wise decisions
IN our instant society - too many people gain all their knowledge from the headlines - or the 30 second video clip --- if it takes more than that - they do not have time
many example right here daily
This is foolishness
Sinners have knowledge, but not spiritual knowledge.
Without compassion—“Who eat up my people as they eat bread.”
Those without Christ will cheat, lie, and do anything to “get ahead.” - to win
and so many of these people even proclaim to have Christ - but wrongly - foolishly
More interested in the praise of men than the praise of God
Without Christ—
“And call not upon the Lord.” --- They feel they do not need God.
So many people, even Christians get so comfortable in their life they no longer Call upon the Lord
these folks live every day calling themselves faithful but very little that they do is done “by faith”
Instead they rely on past knowledge, religion, collective opinions, their own feelings, but they do not “call upon the Lord” daily for their necessary existence

The Fearful

The Unrighteous Fear the Faithful - and oppress them every day
So much work is done to contend with Christianity - to work against he teaching of God
Righteousness produces faith.
Fear. Respect toward God.
Faith. Will result from respect toward God.

The Faithful

They shame the poor - the needy, the weak - But God is with them
“He is the refuge of the poor and humble when evildoers are oppressing them” (LB).
Protection from evil people. God permits people to go only so far in hurting His people.
Protection from evil practices. Man may seek many ways to destroy and hurt us, but they can go only so far.
And even if they Kill us, Faith in God still prevails
Luke 12:5 NKJV
5 But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear Him who, after He has killed, has power to cast into hell; yes, I say to you, fear Him!

The Forgiven

Forgiveness—“From Zion [Heaven].” Salvation is from God.
Freedom—“Set free from captivity.” Freedom is through Christ..
We have all turned astray
We have all earned condemnation
But every one who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved!
In Him, you will find all that you need an more
