Destination (Destination.....)

A theme for this last 3 weeks is being destination and clean. Virus now joins us and he's from Grace Church, in Chapel Hill, in North Carolina, been a good friend for many many, many years. And it's great to have playing with us this morning. He's going to share with us from scriptures for you and then I'll hang up. Father God we thank you for your word father, we thank you for international friendship around the walls. Father would you speak to us? Lord today. Help our hearts to be open, how far it is to be open a hot ready to receive what you want to say to us and Lord speak to us we pray now I got in Jesus name. I mean

Well hello, my friends and running me. Christian Fellowship. From the United States recording this freaking with a church that used to be led by a mutual friend electronically. Also, the Romans I long to be with you, cuz I might impart to some spiritual gifts. All the longing continues as we're apart. But thank God for technology and months and sink, and all this. And what's our destination think about that. I think the first thing that comes to mind is simplicity simple way forward for us in some ways. The complex way of doing 6 verse 16 in a kind of scripture, Jeremiah 6:16. I'm going to read it out of the ESV and then we're going to come and look at it and see if Speaks to you about destination this morning about where he's taking us and what he's doing. So here's how we begin with that. Jeremiah 6:16. Says the Lord. Stand by the roads and look and ask for the ancient paths. Really good. Weigh-ins. And walk in it and find rest for your souls in there. One verse they deal with correction, the way God wants us to go in these days. And so it starts out with them. Stand by the road. So we're looking for direction. And if we're looking for Destination, you got to go to a road. Listen to Stand By the roads and look. So this is a time for observing. You might pick the wrong road, you might be on the wrong road. so you try and look and then ask It figures a dialogue with gone. Looking for a destination looking for in the Prophet. Jeremiah says, ask for watch the ancient path. Interesting. How we're going to go forward with Destiny, where are we going? And it's like the ancient something traditional he says, ask for the ancient paths. That's what's a good weight is that interesting know if I can really see what's going on right now. Everybody got I think prophetic people got woken up, prophets got woken up by a year ago trying to say. Okay I got sink when I thought I was going to see. So God saying let's simplify it and walk in it. Walking, it is not a time to get in your souped-up sports car, we're not taking the bullet trains. What's happening right now is a time to walk with God on our spiritual walk, isn't it? So destination Destiny in God where we're going to be reduced down to our spiritual walk and that's why the new test which hole did you know, walk by faith, not by sight. Let's let's all be real because our natural site is going to give us all kinds of biased. We're going to get information by us. We're going to get experience. So biased is going to maybe take us off the path God Once Upon a Time. But you're so beautiful promise at the end of it, go with a good way, is a walk-in yet, we're going to find something. That's kind of the Earth at the end of the stick. That's kind of the reward that God offers to us. In this passage, you're going to find. I think one of the most beautiful things we all need right now. It's not money. It's not a better. You know what? It is rest for your souls. Wow, I could use some of that. How about you going into this next season and not knowing for certain how the world can be shaped? We need to find a place where we can have some rest. For our souls. Howard. John is calling his people back to what I would call the core elements of the Christian faith. Don't speaks in history. That's why the Bible so amazing to us. And why such an incredible book, a great historical account of God and his actions of the earth is moving among nations and peoples and individuals. And so he said, ask for the ancient paths. because I think, We might be counting on something that we don't know is. futuristic and goddesses, here's one thing you can count on

You can come to pass that. I carved out for my people. Out on the ancient paths that Christ shaped for his disciples. And so we can ask for the ancient past the celebrations of discipline, some of the ancient pass or just your prayers. This point today. Hateful prayer. Sometimes fasting, a lot of churches, in the month of January are doing the fasting. Bible study just reading through the Bible again through the year journaling, heaven forbid, your 2020 Journal more than ever because it's helping me, pathway, but I can go back and visit if I'm creating my own path to get perspective on this year. How you begin your walk with Christ seek? Those ancient pass, meditation, prayer, study of the word confession. These are all good. It's not like we're trying to get messages. We're not trying to get cute when I'm trying to find something. We can post on social media. That's not the purpose. The purpose is for you. You prickly, it's life-changing. Crystal Lake.

Solitude, think about it, this whole picture standing by the road and looking and then finding the ancient path and walking in a Walking with God just you and Jesus. Walking to the master letting him talk to you. As you asked says it has for those ancient passing. Just spending a little time in solitude, you will find rest for your soul and I know it's hard.

Because we can't do a lot of social interaction, but it's just good to switch everything off.

Give me the corporate disciplines. I think church prayer times worship and even though we can't be together because so worshipping confessed, we can pray the same corporate prayers and we will find rest. People are hungry right now. Some of them things that I'm hearing and talking and even though we're kind of lockdown and separated people are hungry. And here's the thing, we've been feeding them Church in. This is a time when they can't feed on Church, they can't be what we kept. You know, what? We're going to feed you. Jesus.

Following Christ.

Four different words. Preacher saldo, all start with the letter R. So here we are. Number one is return. The less interesting I want to go, but God says return. Return to your original calling. The things that are going to enhance your Devotion to Christ.

Nothing is sacred to you and the things going to keep you on course to think that's going to give you rest of your soul, is your personal Devotion to Jesus Christ. Walk in space.

Repent. That's a good Bible word and it's not. It's not a condemning word is not a word of shame. We have to really change the way we think about a lot of things about traditional church about the gospel Jesus.

No more animal sacrifices and you're going to be going to walk in faith by Greyson. Wow, whole new system is going to cost you to repent change the way you think. Heart of repentance is to slow down. And stop and rethink that part of the ancient path that God wants us to go on. I think one of the things we've learned is the busyness of church can get a treadmill. And so now we've had to slow down and stop the busyness corporate life to Christ. Revised. Yes. Return to the Past. Yes, we get caught up and forget about keeping Christ Central but also God.

This month of levels of fasting, with the point is we're going to be praying every day for starting a brand new series called go deep.

So that we can be a stronger. People are strong church, not buckling, break and find rest for our souls. Will the fourth R in this is to retool. I think this is a process by the way that we're making disciples with our group tracks into putting things online and call the in-person church. Presence. We're becoming an online church and we offer an in-person presence. Right now, I know in the UK you can't even offering him for some presents. You're almost strictly an online church right now, and I think that's how we have to re-label and retool ourselves is looking for an online church and RCF. They've been such a good leader in a beautiful. I think a seamless transition for most of you to go online because David's got a good job and that's what others have had a camera in their, in their Sanctuary, didn't have any way to export. Service or a servant of why do some churches that were scrambling? Last March, April, May, they were just buying equipment in scratching their heads and going on YouTube and trying to figure out how to do this. So, praise God, you guys are actually going on. And I think the believer, I don't know about you, but I think I'm comfortable doing something like this. Doing a lot of meetings, interfacing. Did a guy perfect Christmas tree in South Africa from my house and it was a wonderful thing to see the spirit of God be poured out while I'm staring at a little rectangular box on a screen with a couple I've never seen before and yet.

Revelation in Ministry, God is allowing so we can speed Don't have to get on an airplane for 16 hours to do it although I miss that song, but I'll be back.

Happenings of the return returning to the ancient Paths of repenting of our business, and actually use it to slow a lot of laughs, my brother, and I wrote a book during the summer and it came out in the end of June. And my brother jokingly said, well I guess so I had to send a global pandemic to slow you down enough. So you could write and write your book and I laughingly said, yeah, I guess so. But I did take advantage of the change of my season to change my schedule and I think I got is helping us free prioritizing in to do things. Two things I want to come to leave you with a white Diaz and they both start with the c, one is connection. If you're going to find your destination you can't find it alone. You got to be connected. Now it's interesting. We're talking about your personal devotional life growing with Christ that's personal and of course it's going to be bolstered by your relation connection. I think more than ever is got to be the culture of the church.

if you're not connected, even what part of a small group of three or four people are not going to make it as far?

He had twelve disciples. He connected with a small group, we've heard about small groups forever, but I think they're more vital than ever. That's another thing has got his reach will be because of my the last 20 years even though I've been in a great local church, I serve as a governing Elder there and I help equip there and do prophetic Ministry yet. I'm doing regular small group Ministry because of my crazy schedule. A small group.

Now, I'm part of two, men's groups, Mondays and Fridays when I'm not traveling. And then very Jane, my wife and I we live and in-person small group at our church, this fall. When we get a series at our church. In fact, I would say I'm more connected to my own local church now than I have in the last 20 years. That's amazing. And you know what? I don't have to give that up now.

Misunderstand that has to be the focus of a tractional church. If you could have tracked people, you got to attract them to connect them. North Carolina church have not come back to the physical building. So that's what we're putting up. Text messages and phone calls.

The other thing part of connection, I believe that going to be helpful to reach our destination consistency that the other one Beacon system. Isn't that one of those names? Disciplines of all spiritual? Disciplines is consistency consistency in your prayer life consistency, and reading the Bible, consensus, consistency in session and in the fundamentals. So I think we have to make it easy and I think that's happening and I think there's some Consistency offer whatever you offer offer and do it over and over and over and make it consistent. So the people know that this was a button I push this is the time I hit the button and now it's like consistency is a big part of that happening.

What's thing I think is a convergence of these things and how these things are going to fit together here. Hurry up three motions that will convert to get to our destination with that. The thing in motion, right? You're never going to reach the destination if you don't stay in motion or I call the process. So you got to engage with the processes that God is offering to you. We have a saying in the prophetic that if you don't engage in the prophetic process, you'll never reach your prophetic destination, as a destination for either one of us and sometimes Ricci personal prophecies. But if you don't, engage in God's process of developing, there's something he wants to develop in you. Growing you changing you to get you to that destination. If you don't enter the process will never reach your destination.

Pure devotion to Christ in the ancient ways is going to be part of the motion that motion is going to move you toward your destination. Secondly, making making Ministry assessable. Any way shape or form. Show me up to speed on the 21st century technology, go to the gym pass but stay current, we have to stay relevant, we have to make Ministry in this hour, so that's important. We do that. You're doing your well Davis. Like I said, it's just a really, really good at technology and so you're if you're ahead of the give yourself a route route route, we did it. And I think it's going to be more of that. And then, finally, the other thing is going to help you reach. Your destination is the small groups, leverage our small group capacities even summer. Just don't starting fired him. He referred because of Covent. Never thing. They started these house churches and their their Bloomin where they used to have one Community Church that couldn't meet. They just broke it up into three or four different small house churches. 10 11, 12, people. And so, I think God is helping us to distribute distribute the gospel get into the homes and stain Community, create Community, keep creating community, and then, stand up with regular consistent. Small groups, these are the converging motions, the ancient paths, the current technology and the leveraging of small group Gathering virtual, or otherwise, it's going to keep us moving toward God's destination. So, let me pray for you. I really believe that God is going to bless RCF because you're so used to the small group connecting, and I want to encourage you. If you're not connecting, pray and ask God, how you can do that, get help call David, and it's January some New Year, New Prague already done this. But, you know, make a commitment to follow the ancient Paths of prayer, study of the word devotion, and I love being able to program and hears my prayer. I'm going to pray that you in this process, these emoticons Internal motion sensor, external motion will be on God's path of your destiny. God has a destination. Now, you need to engage in the process. I just think you're calling some of us back here calling us more to go and stand by the road at times. It's to be still and stand by the open, be transparent. God I'm hungry. Help me find a good way. You said that's where it is. We just stopped. Observe and ask will find a good way, will begin to walk in and I pray for a fresh walk in the spirit for each and every person RC F

What are snaps in Art? Walk of faith. I just I just hate you at your promise in Jeremiah 6:16. We will find rest for your souls. I think it's a quest. Part of destination and Destiny is a quest for the end. Father, the end of this verse is, I think what we all long for rest for our souls? So I pray that the peace of God, which passeth understanding confusion anxiety. And God, you would bring the rest of the season for Jane, for us to walk in.
