It’s Time

Hosea 10:12 - Sunday, August 3, PM – FBC Winona

Speaking tonight out of the overflow

·         From the quiet time

·         Building on the message from this morning

Hosea 10:12

Sow for yourselves righteousness, reap the fruit of unfailing love,

and break up your unplowed ground; for it is time to seek the LORD,

until he comes and showers righteousness on you.

Sow Righteousness

·         Righteousness – the state of acting in an upright, moral way; virtuous:

·         Reap – fruit of unfailing love

·         Live for God and receive His love

Break up unplowed ground

·         Can be ground not previously worked

·         Or can be ground that was fertile and was left unattended

Seek the Lord

·         Urgently – for it is time

·         Continually – until He comes

·         Expectantly – and showers righteousness

·         Personally – on you

For those churches that are really on fire . . . where does the power come from?

PRAYER

·         Individual prayer warriors

·         Corporate prayer

·         Intercessory prayer

·         Seeking the power of God

Matthew 6:9-13 – The Model Prayer

9"This, then, is how you should pray:

" 'Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name,

10your kingdom come, your will be done

on earth as it is in heaven.

11Give us today our daily bread.

12Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.

13And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.

1.      Our Father in heaven – establishing who this is addressed to – notice “our”

2.      Hallowed be your name – not asking for God’s name to be holy – it already is

3.      (Revelation 4:8 – “Holy, holy, holy, Lord God, the Almighty, who was, who is and who is coming”)

4.      We’re not worthy to come to the throne of Holy God

5.      Your kingdom come – my first priority is His Kingdom come – not my will or desires

6.      Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven – instantly in Heaven – DONE

7.      Give us today our daily bread – what our needs are – materially and otherwise – manna

8.      Forgive us as we have also forgiven

9.      Lead us not into temptation – pray for protection from the evil one

Feeling God’s direction that we need to “step up” our prayer ministry

Possibly an intercessory prayer ministry

Possibly a prayer room

Possibly praying during the worship services

Why?

·         Seeking God’s hand

·         Protection from the enemy

·         Surrendering to His will
