January 17, 2021 Handfuls on Purpose God is the ROCK of my: • Salvation • Strength • Shelter “Blood Bought Church” Psalm 62 Before we start breaking down this Psalm, I want to remind you of a biblical truth. GOD – refers to the Triune Godhead When you want to speak of One more specifically you say: • • • God The Father or HaShem God The Son or Jesus Christ God The Holy Spirit Psalm 62: Like Breaking News Headlines Psalm 62:1 (MEV) 1 My soul waits in silence on God alone; from Him comes my salvation. Only God brings ________________________ Psalm 62:2 (MEV) He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my refuge; I will not be greatly shaken. 2 My salvation, my refuge are firmly on the __________________ Psalm 62:3–4 (MEV) How long will you attack a man, to batter him, all of you, as you would a leaning wall, a tottering fence? 4 They only conspire to cast him down from his high position; they delight in lies, they bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly. Selah 3 The enemy constantly attack the men of God. They ______________ to cast him down from his high position. They delight in _________________. They totally lack honesty and integrity. Psalm 62:5 (MEV) 5 My soul, wait silently for God, for my hope is from Him. _____________________ again!! Maybe God doesn’t believe in social media! My HOPE is in HIM!!! In HIM: Salvation, My Glory, My Strength, My Shelter, All on The ___________ Psalm 62:8 (MEV) Trust in Him at all times; you people, pour out your heart before Him; God is a shelter for us. Selah 8 ________________ is a key word. You don’t just Worship & Praise!!!!! Psalm 62:9–10 (MEV) Surely people of low degree are a breath, and men of high degree are a lie; if they are placed in the balance, they are altogether lighter than vapor. 10 Do not trust in oppression, and do not become vain in robbery; if riches increase, do not set your heart on them. 9 Don’t ________________ any kind of man. Great or lowly. Don’t trust ___________________________ happiness nor wealth. Do not set your heart on any of these things. (Espec. USA & Wealth) Psalm 62:11 (MEV) 11 God has spoken once, twice have I heard this: that power belongs to God. Power, real, eternal power – ALL belongs to God and God alone. Psalm 62:12 (MEV) Also to You, O Lord, belongs mercy; for You render to each one according to his work. 12 Wait – your earned wages are: ________________________. Mercy only comes from Jesus Christ and His Blood Stained Cross.
