Luke 23:46 - Giving It To God

7:15 PM
What is the greatest gift you have ever received? I remember my wife and I's first Christmas. How exciting it was. And while the presents may have not been the most expensive, they were so special and wonderful thoughts of love and affection between my Angie and I. What about the greatest gift you ever gave? I remember at a camp probably 13 or 14 years ago a young man was having terrible car and money trouble. I felt impressed to give him some money which I did secretly. Then I heard him stand and testify how the Lord provided for him. It was really a blessing to give that gift. No wonder the Bible says it is more blessed to give than to receive.
I love John 3:16 where the beloved disciple penned those immortal words of the Lord Himself, for God so loved the world that He Gave - He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on him should not perish but have everlasting life.
In our text this morning we read where Jesus on the cross gives something of great importance to the Father. "Father into thy hands I commend my Spirit." Now he commended or entrusted his Spirit to the Father, that is he entrusted his eternal destiny, his everything.
I want you to know this morning that you can entrust Him with everything today. You can give him whatever you have and he will keep, he will help, he will heal, he will fix,
Give Him the Shattered Pieces - Pick up the broken pieces and bring them to the LordI'm glad this way of Grace is the way of fresh starts. All we like sheep have gone astray the Bible says. But Yet he came to seek and to save. To turn us around. Put us on a new path, give us a new start. Make us a new creation.I think of the poor man of the Gadarenes. The demoniac. Sometimes I look at those I have been working with this way. They are bound, in chains, and yet they can't even hold them. They are in the control of someone else. Yet just a few words from Jesus and all of those broken shattered pieces came together in a beautiful and glorious masterpiece. If you are in pieces this morning bring them to Jesus he specializes in healing the broken hearted.
Give Him the burdens - Are you tired of chasing pretty rainbows…One songwriter put it this way:
Are you tired of chasing pretty rainbows? Are you tired of spinning round and round? Wrap up all those shattered dreams of your life And at the feet of Jesus, lay them down.
Give them all, give them all, give them all to Jesus Shattered dreams, wounded hearts, and broken toys. Give them all, give them all, give them all to Jesus And He will turn your sorrows into joy.
He never said you only see sunshine, He never said there would be no rain. He only promised a heart full of singing About the very thing that once brought pain.
Matthew 11:28
"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."

Do you have guilt - Give it to JesusDo you have pain or shame - Give it to JesusDo you have fears anxieity - Give them to JesusDo you have grief sorrow - give them to JesusDo you have dissappointments - give them to Jesus
Give Him You - Update…Maybe you don't have any of the needs that I have mentioned but maybe you are due for an update. I have an old laptop that I almost refuse to connexct online because it has been so long since it has been updated that it bogs it down trying to upgrade all of the apps and software. But everyonce and a while I need to get it done. How about you, it doesn't mean you have backslid. It doesn't mean you are having spiritual trouble, it just means you are living and when you live life, you face situations and bugs, and viruses and other things that you have to connect to the source and get an upgrade if you will, a new touch, a refresher. Give it to Jesus he can fill you to overflowing
Whatever you facing, whatever your battle, I want you to know you can give it to Jesus. Paul found this out with whatever he faced and he faced a lot of things, but he declared victoriously, "
2 Timothy 1:12 (KJV)
12 For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.
Committed - the same word that is used in Luke 23:46 when Jesus "commended" His Spirit to the Father. This morning you can entrust whatever you are going through to Jesus and Know that He Will HELP, HEAL, Whatever He sees you need.
Why don't you come and give it to Him.
