v. 1 -
Most of us would like to delight in God’s commandments more than we do, but where should we find the motivation?
The fear of the LORD.
The man who fears the Lord is blessed because the fear of the Lord motivates Him to delight in God’s commandments.
Why does fear of God lead us to delight in God’s commandments?
Because in fearing God, we don’t want to disobey His commands. We know there is discipline for disobeying God.
Because in revering God (an alternative to fearing God), we want to honor God by obeying His commandments.
