Old Testament
Old Testament
28 God blessed them; and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”
When God said to be fruitful and multiply, he was giving the instructions to be fruitful. to spread and make more of their kind.
In the old testament the word is: [מַעֲשֶׂה mǎ·ʿǎśě(h) ]
meaning, work, accomplishment, of final fate.
3 He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water,
Which yields its fruit in its season
And its leaf does not wither;
And in whatever he does, he prospers.
Fruit from the vine, from the origin
So fruit does not mean that we are talking about.
New Testament
New Testament
The New Testament uses the words fruit in the same way.
The Bible in the New Testament talks of fruit (kar-a-pos) as:
- a product or outcome of something .
advantage, gain, and profit
Jesus talks of bearing good fruit.
5 “I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.
18 “A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, nor can a bad tree produce good fruit.
Jesus makes it clear that He is the source of good fruit. Bad fruit, cannot come from Jesus.
it is not possible for a tree apart from Him can make good fruit. and if the fruit is not good then it is bad.
There was a time from Jesus was walking and was hungry and went by a fig tree. He show that the tree had leaves good leaves but no fruit.
For this reason Jesus cursed the tree.
So we understand that throughout the Bible fruit is something that is used to be:
eaten
consumed
and used for nourishment
The fruit of the HOLY SPIRIT, the work which His presence within you is accomplishes.
