DOWN THROUGH THE YEARS
Psalm 37:25
One wonders where the psalmist has been all his life if he has never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread. David must surely have seen good people in great difficulties!
But this misses the psalmist's point. He did not question that the righteous may be temporarily forsaken, needy and poor. Rather, he observed that nowhere can it be shown that the righteous have experienced continued desertion and destitution.
David himself had plenty of opportunity to complain that God had forgotten him. For example, he had to beg rich Nabal for bread. Therefore, it is important to note that David carefully sets his statement in the context of life's long haul, for he had been young and now he was much older.
God does not abandon his people; he cares for them and provides for them. For those who have lived long enough in this world to see that God does finally right wrongs and avenge gross injustice, the psalmist's declarations ring true even if the short term offers many temporary exceptions Hard Sayings of the Bible.
I have been young, and now am old—I believe this to be literally true in all cases. I am now grey-headed myself; I have traveled in different countries, and have had many opportunities of seeing and conversing with religious people in all situations in life; and I have not, to my knowledge, seen one instance to the contrary. I have seen no righteous man forsaken, nor any children of the righteous begging their bread. God puts this honor upon all that fear him; and thus careful is he of them, and of their posterity.
Though the years much have changed. We have come along way in many repect and backwards in others.
God does not leave His children unattended. He never desert His people He is always there for the righteous.
If He done it once He can do it again . he is not a one time of God. Whatever He did once He can and will do it again. Because He is God above all others, He is a sovereign God who can do what He whats and how He wants an when He wants.
The summation of it all. David said I have never seen the righteous forsaken. Have talked to many righteous people. They have had ups and downs, hills and valleys, good and bad, but through it all God has delivered them. For our hope is in HIM.
