Introduction

Understand the Writer, Apostle Paul.(explain)

He was the chief sinner.

He had Christian Blood on His hands. (explain Steven)

He Persecuted the church and many church followers. Until one day he was on Damascus rd. headed there to pick up some believers that was detained to take them back to Jerusalem and thrown them in Jail.(are you whiling and devoted enough to your believe knowing is a good chance got shipped off).

(Explain the difference in jail then and jail) Your options was these-Hung, crucified, impelled, or Stoned. (death).

(in old self )on his old assignment- he was assigned by the enemy VS (new self) his new assignment- he was assigned by Lord

Before he walked in Darkness now He then in the Light. ( Every True Believe must go this Transformation with God.)To go in a different direction.

The Word that you will receive today is a result of God working though Paul in that process.

Paul Became a Missionary that established and built many Churches in Gentile Lands because of this process.

He went from persecuting believes to establishing congregation. Restoring believers because of this process.- Church of Ephesus was one of Churches.

Understand Ephesus the Place to really get what he was saying to the Church. ( to sum it up)

It was a very evil and corrupt place.(few Ex.)

Like here in America people that were not walking in the Spirit of Truth seen Ephesus as a Good place- the place to be. They walked desires instead walking in the will of God.

(why)Cause Naturally, People like sin. (Give Examples). So it is not a surprise to me that God would instruct Paul to plant a church here in Ephesus .-Knowing Jesus came for the sick- not the healthy, for the sinner- not the righteous.(Mark 2:17 & Luke 5:31-32). The Mission of the church today is not to be self righteous ,act holyer than thou, or to be in a certain click. The Mission of the Church should be ,to be an illuminating light that guides lost souls to Christ by living in Christ.To be a Church Lead by the Holy Spirit, infused with the Holy Ghost. By pursuing what is righteous, following who is perfect and display him in our “Walk”.(Ex. what, who, when,) (Endure the walk unto the end) Matthew 24:13

-What stood out the most to me as I studied this text is the word “walk”. (teach in original lang.)

-Greek word “Walk” is (Per-ee-pat-eh’-o)- to tread all around, to walk at Large(as proof or ability) to live, to deport oneself, follow( as a companion or votary). votary means- a devoted follower, adherent advocates of someone or something. (Break it down)

Paul says off the rip in v.17. Here in the(NKJV) You should no longer “walk” as the gentiles “walk”.(gentile=Lost)

NIV says- that you must no longer “live” as the gentiles do.

CSB says(my favorite)- “ You should not “live” as the gentiles live, in futility of their thoughts. (other words - “Get Ya Mind Right)

We see here that some Translations of the “Word” says- “walk” and some say “Live”. They are synonyms and they interchangeable. -Your Christian “walk” is how you live, how you live speak for and represent Jesus and His Church,It is Proof that Jesus still lives if he live in you or not. Simply put: Your ability to endure while “walking” throughout this life, depends on if you are Truly “living” in Christ. ( Demo: you ain’t no match....for the devil.(2x) So don’t be ....Out here.... walking alone(2x).
