Let me start with a Praise!

The kids go back to school this week!!!

It has been interesting teaching my kids for the past two years, I* mean weeks. The past four weeks have been such a blur. It is filled with grief and pain. But there was some joy of course. But have felt overwhelmed as well. The word I like to use is “DONE!” I am done with politics, I am done with Covid. I am just done with these things on a whole other level! I have noticed that my kids are done too.
Savannah’s last assignment Friday afternoon that we completed was a question. She was asked how she felt about getting to come back to school next week. She chose the Smiley face of course. And then it hit me. With all that we have done in the past weeks, how have my kids fared during the moments of grief and frustration. What do they understand about what they are hearing on the news? In twenty years, when they are well into their adulthood, how will this time shape their understanding of the world, their intelligence, and their faith?
Pray and Read: 1 Samuel 3:1-20

Who was Samuel?

First with the title of prophet in the long-standing since leadership duo in Israel of Prophet-King.

He was a child!

I don’t want us to focus on children today though as great as they are! No, I want us to think about how we could listen like children, think like children and feel like children. Children are so young that their brains are like sponges, I have heard before. They take everything in.
