Jesus upsets our “natural order”
Jesus upsets our “natural order”
Jesus calls those who are hated, no one is better or worse than the other
He does things differently, He doesn’t feel the need to hold to practices in the same way that the Pharisees do
The way the Pharisees were willing to hold to their doctrine illustrated their amazing faith to the law, but also their amazing lack of understanding of who God is
How does this apply to us as a youth group???
All of our practices have to have a “Jesus-colored lens”
All of our practices have to have a “Jesus-colored lens”
The Pharisees believed things for no reason, other than they felt that they needed to supplement the Bible because they didn’t have a good idea as to what God wanted, nor did they desire the freedom that God had given them.
Jesus challenges them (and us!!) to believe right doctrine for the right reasons
Therefore, we have to always be evaluating what we believe to see if it truly fits within Scripture and the message of the Gospel.
