Mr. Denny has passed from this life, but now is experiencing our blessed hope. He has been recieved by the Father and has a new dwelling place where there is no more tears, no more pain, and no more death. He is rejoicing in the presence of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, so in the midst of the sorrow I encourage you to set your eyes on Christ and remember that we are to grieve as those who have hope and to encourage one another with the truth of the resurrection of the body of Christ and of all those who are in Him.
Let us pray together,
God and Father,
We come this afternoon looking to you asking for your mercy and grace. Lord we are grateful for the life of brother Denny, his faithfulness to his family, to Jesus, and the church are evidences that encourage us, knowing that he has been raised from this death to life. We know that even though his body lies here, his soul is in your presence.
We pray as the puritans prayed,
Give us the assurance that in Christ our brother died, in him he rose, in his life he lives, in his victory he has triumphed, in his ascension he shall be glorified.
What more could be done that thou has done,
Thy death is our life, thy resurrection our peace, thy ascension our hope, thy prayers our comfort.
Lord we lift up Mrs. Brenda, their children and grandchildren and pray that they would find their peace, hope, and comfort in the good news of the life, death, burial, and resurrection of your Son, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It is in his precious name we pray. Amen!
