chapter 9, 11 and 16 promises of a Savior are not fulfilled in Hezekiah
Isaiah 9:6
Isaiah 11:1-5
Isaiah 16:5

The Mortal Man

Hezekiah’s life was in danger from a disease and He needed God to save him
Hezekiah could only serve God in his life

The Selfish Leader

He brought danger on his people because of his own pride and wants
He only rejoiced in his own salvation rather than the peace of his people

Christ- The Immortal, Selfless God

Christ laid down his own life and had the power to receive it back (John 10:17-18)
Christ served the Father in life and in the grave (Gal 1:4)
Christ humbled himself to lift up mankind and rescue us from death (Phil 2:7-8)
Christ rejoiced in sacrificing himself so that he could save us (Heb 12:2)
Hezekiah was not the Savior that God’s people needed. He failed when Israel needed him. He looked out for himself and his own life.
Christ laid down his life for you and humbled himself so that we may have life and have it abundantly.
