The Ministry of Reconciliation

I. INTRODUCTION:
Since the beginning of this month and year, I have ministered to you from the sermon series, “Reaching The World With The Word”, which is the mission statement for the global ministry of Full Gospel Word and Worship Center.
Part 1 - Reaching The World With The Word - The Vision Within The Vision
Part 2 - The Right Stuff
Part 3 - The Ministry of Reconciliation
GOLDEN TEXT:
Mark 16:15–20 AV
15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. 17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. 19 So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. 20 And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.
BEFORE I BEGIN TODAY’S MESSAGE, I HAVE A PASTORAL POINT TO MAKE:
Please understand when I say global ministry, I am referring to all locations - Columbia, Beaufort, Ghana and future locations.
When additional locations are birthed into the Full Gospel family, they too will operate under the same mission statement.
Some locations may operate in a different capacity, but will still have the same mission.
FOR EXAMPLE:
If you’ve been planted in this ministry for any amount of time, we all know that the Lord told Pastor Holmes to take divine healing to His body (The body of Christ). Pastor Holmes has the gift of healing, with a very tangible anointing. Of course I’m referring to our headquarters location in Columbia.
In contrast, our Beaufort location will be operating in a different capacity. The Lord revealed that Beaufort will be preaching the gospel to the lost and making disciples of believers; with a focus on salvation, administering or getting others filled with the Holy Spirit and using our faith to administer healing to the sick.
This is an example of two different operational capacities with the same mission - Reaching The World With The Word.
It is very important that we have a clear understanding of this. Otherwise, it could cause you to become confused, which will then lead to frustration. Frustration will lead to complaining; and complaining will cause you to become unfruitful and unproductive. Rendering little or no support to the overall mission.
Consider the following passage of scriptures in reference to this point:
Ephesians 4:11–12 AV
11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
1 Corinthians 12:4–7 AV
4 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5 And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. 6 And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all. 7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.
II. BODY:
Mark 16:15 AV
15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
THAT COMMAND WAS GIVEN TO THE DISCIPLES, BUT IT IS FOR ALL BELIEVERS TO OBEY!
So, why aren’t all Christians obeying this command that Jesus gave us?
Here are several reasons why:
They are afraid of getting rejected. No one likes rejection.
They me feel intimidated when an opportunity presents itself.
They don’t know what to say.
Don’t know enough about the Bible to be an effective witness.
It is not their calling. (The word says do the work of an evangelist, not be an evangelist. I’m going to show you in the word today that it actually is your calling!)
Somebody else will do it. (Yeah, you right somebody else will do it - The Jehovah’s Witnesses, The Mormons, The Muslims)
Here is a powerful reason why we need to preach the gospel to the lost. Look at the affect witnessing or not witnessing has on Jesus.
Matthew 25:31–46 AV
31 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: 32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: 33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. 34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: 35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: 36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. 37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? 38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? 39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? 40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. 41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: 42 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink: 43 I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not. 44 Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee? 45 Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me. 46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.
***NOW SAINTS OF GOD, LET ME SHOW YOU FROM THE WORD OF GOD THAT HE HAS CALLED AND EQUIPPED US TO BE A STRONG WITNESS***
2 Corinthians 5:17–21 AV
17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; 19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. 20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God. 21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
III. CONCLUSION:
Saints here is why we most take what the Lord has given us and bear much fruit with it.
Matthew 25:13 AV
13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.
