Psalm 95 NKJV
1 Oh come, let us sing to the Lord! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. 2 Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms. 3 For the Lord is the great God, And the great King above all gods. 4 In His hand are the deep places of the earth; The heights of the hills are His also. 5 The sea is His, for He made it; And His hands formed the dry land. 6 Oh come, let us worship and bow down; Let us kneel before the Lord our Maker. 7 For He is our God, And we are the people of His pasture, And the sheep of His hand. Today, if you will hear His voice: 8 “Do not harden your hearts, as in the rebellion, As in the day of trial in the wilderness, 9 When your fathers tested Me; They tried Me, though they saw My work. 10 For forty years I was grieved with that generation, And said, ‘It is a people who go astray in their hearts, And they do not know My ways.’ 11 So I swore in My wrath, ‘They shall not enter My rest.’ ”

Praise Him if you're Gonna Praise Him!

Sometimes when I’m Preaching I give in to my “Pentecostal Proclivities.” Sometimes when I do that and I get on a roll people do not know whether or not it is appropriate to clap, when i notice that hesitation I say, “well praise Him of you’re gonna praise Him!
a lot of people in this church do not really worship God in a way that matches their testimony.
I don’t believe that people here don’t want to praise the Lord. I think its because they don’t understand the value in praising God.
Psalm 22:3 KJV 1900
3 But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.
tonight we are going to go through these eleven verses and we are going to learn about praise.
later on in the year we are going to talk about prayer and how to do it!

1. Praise is something we initiate: we praise with Joy and thanksgiving for what He has done.

Psalm 95:1–3 NKJV
1 Oh come, let us sing to the Lord! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. 2 Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms. 3 For the Lord is the great God, And the great King above all gods.
the first thing the passage says is come.
we have appointed times of worship so that we can COME before the Lord. many Christians don’t yield there members to obedience to the word and therefore don’t reap the benefits of unsown actions.
Romans 6:13 NKJV
13 And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.
The second part of the verse says: let us sing to the Lord. So, Praising God is not Christian Karaoke, this is praising God!
We are called to shout, in the attitude of Joy of salvation.
how many of us are saved? How many of us are saved and are better in some way better than we where before salvation.
Let us come into His presence with thanksgiving. let us shout joyfully to whom with Psalms.
why do we do all this because God is great!
Are you grateful that God saved you?
what do you have to be thankful for?

2. He has the whole world in His hands.

Psalm 95:4–5 NKJV
4 In His hand are the deep places of the earth; The heights of the hills are His also. 5 The sea is His, for He made it; And His hands formed the dry land.
The Lord Has it all.
the lowest parts of the earth.
the highest parts of the earth.
where ever one could go, He has been there.

3. He is our God. We are His people.

Psalm 95:6–7 NKJV
6 Oh come, let us worship and bow down; Let us kneel before the Lord our Maker. 7 For He is our God, And we are the people of His pasture, And the sheep of His hand. Today, if you will hear His voice:
we are to kneel. you don’t see very many people in worship in the whole of Christendom. are we too proud? or our we just arrogant.

4. Do not harden your hearts

Psalm 95:8–11 NKJV
8 “Do not harden your hearts, as in the rebellion, As in the day of trial in the wilderness, 9 When your fathers tested Me; They tried Me, though they saw My work. 10 For forty years I was grieved with that generation, And said, ‘It is a people who go astray in their hearts, And they do not know My ways.’ 11 So I swore in My wrath, ‘They shall not enter My rest.’ ”
