@ILL TEXT = About 35 years ago Dr. M. R. De Haan was scheduled to conduct a Bible conference in Pennsylvania. Later he related a very strange incident connected with that series of meetings. He told us that a few days before he left for this assignment, a member of the conference committee called him on the telephone to inquire about his health. After being assured that he was quite well, the man told him why he was concerned. Someone had received a clipping from a Michigan newspaper reporting Dr. De Haan's death. The word quickly spread and soon calls of sympathy began pouring in. The reason for all the confusion was the death of another local minister by the same name.
@ILL TEXT = Dr. De Haan said, "When I arrived at the conference, I found that a crowd of very curious people had assembled. I selected Revelation 1:18 for my text and shocked them by saying, 'The reports you heard about my death are true! I did die, but I am now risen from the dead and am alive forevermore.' I reminded them that while the verse I had chosen refers first of all to our blessed Lord, it can also be applied to every member of the Body of Christ. All of us were dead in our sins, but in Him we have been given new life. (See Ephesians 2:1,5.) Every believer can therefore say, 'I have been crucified with Christ; nevertheless I live.'" Since that meeting in Pennsylvania, Dr. De Haan has been called home to Glory; yet like the Lord Jesus he is "alive forevermore."

@ILL TITLE = DRINK DEEPLY
@ILL TEXT = A little girl from a very poor family was in the hospital. The nurse brought her a glass filled to the brim with milk. This was the first time the girl had a whole glass of her own because at home she always had to share with her brothers and sisters. When the nurse returned to her room, she found the glass still full. "Why didn't you drink it?" she asked. "Do you need some help?" "No, ma'am," replied the girl. "You didn't tell me how deep I could drink." The nurse, knowing of her poverty, fought back the tears. "Drink all of it," she said tenderly, "I brought this whole glass just for you."
