My house yesterday morning
Something is wrong I can make it right
Verse 3
Really nice when Scripture says our first importance
Christ died because of our sins that keep growing
What do you do with guilt and who pays the atonement
Religion is mans attempt to fix our greatest problem
(video) yet this is what many believe not thank you for a valiant effort Jesus but I got it
Luke and he Emmasus road and John 5:39, 46
John 5:39 ESV
You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that bear witness about me,
John 5:46 ESV
For if you believed Moses, you would believe me; for he wrote of me.
The Bible is about Jesus and what is most important to you?
Verse 4
Psalm 16:10
Psalm 16:10 ESV
For you will not abandon my soul to Sheol, or let your holy one see corruption.
Horao here and on the 3rd day of creation
Hosea 6:1-2
Hosea 6:1–2 ESV
“Come, let us return to the Lord; for he has torn us, that he may heal us; he has struck us down, and he will bind us up. After two days he will revive us; on the third day he will raise us up, that we may live before him.
Jonah 1:17
Jonah 1:17 ESV
And the Lord appointed a great fish to swallow up Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.
Matthew 12:38-41
Matthew 12:38–41 ESV
Then some of the scribes and Pharisees answered him, saying, “Teacher, we wish to see a sign from you.” But he answered them, “An evil and adulterous generation seeks for a sign, but no sign will be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah. For just as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. The men of Nineveh will rise up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it, for they repented at the preaching of Jonah, and behold, something greater than Jonah is here.
5-8
This evidence is for the saints in Corinth
Example of tackling objections with the Word
Empty tomb and Cephas/Peter (coward) (plan)
More than 500 people (hallucinations)
James wasn’t connected to the 12
Saul of Tarsus (give up what makes you popular)
Great confidence but why do we need a resurrected Savior?
We look to and long for resurrection!
All true, my victory, and not hog wash!
My daughter in my jacket and Jonah!
What do I need and what will I look to?
Verse 9
Paul’s belief doesn’t lead him to hide
Paul is not drawing all attention to himself but allowing us to see this “but”
Verse 10
Saved from self salvation and saved by grace
2 Nephi 25:23 “For we labor diligently to write, to persuade our children, and also our brethren, to believe in Christ, and to be reconciled to God; for we know that it is by grace that we are saved, after all we can do.”
Paul knew he didn’t live up to this Eph. 2:8-9
“Our huffing and puffing to impress God, our scrambling for brownie points, our thrashing about trying to fix ourselves while hiding our pettiness and wallowing in guilt are nauseating to God and are a flat denial of the gospel of grace.”
Grace shuts down pride, contempt, big egos, replaces you and we hate that
Same stance and same arrival squashes pride (“me too”)
Defensiveness proves our religiousness
Our comparison proves our religiousness
Our lack of transparency proves our religiousness
Our self atonement and works prove our religiousness
Right belief leads to right behavior!
Verse 10b
Grace not in vain will not lead to burnout or a life of living in sin!
Grace not in vain save you from your works saving you to working hard because you have it.
A runner who runs
A student who has an A+
A musician who is hidden in Christ
This leads to excellence and to hard work
This leads to a kingdom mindset
This calls Christians to get on the field and outwork every one
Grace doesn’t lead to apathy, laziness, or self centeredness
The hard work I do I cannot even take credit for
Would the church be here today if Paul adopted a life that looks like yours?
$5k to come and serve every week and small view of grace
The reason why people can sit at home and watch!
Have you read our Bibles broken people meet Christ and run!
