Get Ready for Jesus!

Colossians 3:12-17

12 Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, 13 bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. 14 And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. 15 And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful. 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. 17 And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

Remember what Jesus has done!

You received Christ! you were saved! v.6

You are rooted, built up, and established. v. 7

The fulness of God dwells in you. v. 9

You have been filled. v. 10 passive verb

circumcised to meet Christ’s approval

Buried and Raised. v. 12

made alive. v. 13

forgiven of all trespasses.

Christ cancelled the debt.

Jesus disarmed and triumphed over evil.

Seek Christ!

Let no one pass judgment on you. 2:16

Let no one disqualify you. 2:18

3. Seek the things that are above. 3:1

4. Set your minds on what is above. 3:2

5. Put to death.....3:5-11

6. Put on these qualities 3:12-17

Say Yes in order to Say No.

Put on compassionate hearts.

kindness.

humility.

meekness.

patience.

bear with one another.

forgive early. forgive often.

love, it binds everything together.

Let the peace of Christ rule! 3:15
