Jesus doesn’t fit the world’s system

He upsets people who don’t like His miracles and who don’t like His teaching
The scribes and teachers don’t like how powerful He really is, and so He is accused of being possessed by a demon.
Jesus quickly logics His way out of that one.
His community (family and friends) don’t like the power He has in speaking
They come to Him, seemingly thinking that they can get favor or get Him to stop what He is doing, yet He knows that His mission is not even close to complete.

Being a Christian is not Necessarily Easy

Being identified in Christ does not mean that you are going to have everything come to you super easily
John 15:18-27, emphasis on V 19: You aren’t of this world anymore, so your values, the things you think are important, everything is going to be vastly different from people who don’t love Jesus
Does this make you better than anyone? Far from it!
Instead, we are all called to love people in the way Jesus does, because you don’t have to rely on yourself to know what is right.
Jesus called you out of this broken system that doesn’t value what is right.
He’s called you out of yourself
You don’t have to manufacture righteousness, or try to “get right with God.” All you have to do is rely on Jesus and let Him shape your life!
It might be difficult to be a Christian. You will find yourself in crazy situations. You will have to love people and do things you never thought were possible. But the beautiful thing is that you aren’t alone, and you aren’t defined by yourself anymore. You are a prince or princess, a son or a daughter of the God who created and rules the universe. So let’s go!
